Two successful mid-majors look to continue historic seasons and reach the NIT semifinals for the first time when second-seeded Saint Mary’s visits top seed Valparaiso on Tuesday. West Coast Conference regular-season champion Saint Mary’s has won a school-record 29 games and Valparaiso can reach that figure to surpass the club mark set in 2014-15 with its eighth victory in nine contests.

Brigham Young standout Kyle Collinsworth wanted to finish his career in
the NCAA Tournament, but he is making the most of playing in the NIT and
looks for another strong performance on Tuesday as the Cougars host
Creighton in a quarterfinal contest. The winner of the matchup between
second-seeded BYU and the fourth-seeded Bluejays will advance to the
semifinals at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
