Southern Illinois at Wichita St. 1:00 PM ET
Repeat tournament champions have been relatively common in the Missouri Valley Conference lately – a fact that bodes well for top-seeded Wichita State. The eighth-ranked Shockers begin their quest to become the third team to win consecutive league tournament titles in seven seasons in Friday's quarterfinals when they face Southern Illinois in St. Louis. Wichita State ended a 27-year championship drought last year, capturing its third tournament title in the 37-year history of the event.
Bradley at Northern Iowa 7:05 PM ET
Northern Iowa ended its Missouri Valley Conference season heavy in accolades, but had to settle for a second-place finish. After becoming the first team to win 16 league games and not claim the MVC title, the No. 12 Panthers hope to end a four-year winless drought in the MVC tournament quarterfinals Friday in St. Louis against Bradley. Wichita State snapped Northern Iowa’s school-record 16-game winning streak Saturday, dashing its hopes for a third regular-season crown in seven years.
Morehead St. at Murray St. 7:30 PM ET
Fresh off an undefeated Ohio Valley Conference regular season, No. 24 Murray State starts its quest for a league tournament title when it faces Morehead State in the semifinals in Nashville on Friday. The top-seeded Racers - winners of 24 straight - defeated the Eagles in their only meeting this season, a 66-57 decision on the road Jan. 3. Fifth-seeded Morehead State comes in having won five straight, including a 76-65 victory over UT Martin in Thursday's quarterfinals.
Texas Tech at Baylor 9:00 PM ET
Baylor will try to bounce back from an emotional 61-59 overtime loss at Texas when it hosts Texas Tech on Friday in the Big 12 regular season finale for both schools. The Bears go into the final weekend in position to finish anywhere from a tie for second behind Kansas, which has already clinched the title and No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament, to fifth place depending on how things play out while the Red Raiders have already clinched last place and the No. 10 seed.
