Preview Roundups
February 22, 2017
Vanderbilt at Tennessee 6:30 PM ET
Vanderbilt attempts to extend its winning streak to three games when it hits the road to take on Tennessee in a Southeastern Conference tilt on Wednesday. Both teams are hovering around .500 overall and trying to earn more wins to garner postseason consideration, so this contest figures to be hard-fought from the onset.
Michigan at Rutgers 6:30 PM ET
Michigan looks to stay in contention for an NCAA Tournament berth when it hits the road to face Rutgers on Wednesday. The Wolverines' hopes of earning their second straight tournament bid took a big hit when they suffered an 83-78 overtime setback to Minnesota on Sunday, and they'll look to bounce back by beating the Scarlet Knights for the 10th consecutive time.
Duke at Syracuse 7:00 PM ET

Two of the most successful coaches in college basketball history will go head-to-head when Syracuse hosts No. 11 Duke in an ACC contest on Wednesday. Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski holds a slim 4-3 edge against Jim Boeheim and the Orange.

Pittsburgh at Wake Forest 7:00 PM ET
Pittsburgh has featured the most prolific scoring duo in the ACC this season, and finally are stringing victories together entering Wednesday’s visit to Wake Forest. The Panthers have won three of their past four, including an upset of No. 20 Florida State on Saturday, and features the top scorer in the league in Michael Young and the third-highest scorer in Jamel Artis.
Texas Christian at Kansas 7:00 PM ET
With another come-from-behind victory Saturday against Baylor, No. 3 Kansas has put itself in a position to clinch a tie for its 13th straight Big 12 title on Wednesday when surprising TCU visits Wednesday. The Horned Frogs have won as many conference games this season under first-year coach Jamie Dixon than they had in their last three seasons combined, and an upset against the Jayhawks could solidify a first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1997.
Central Florida at Temple 7:00 PM ET
Following a stretch of six losses in seven games, Central Florida appears to be back on track. The Knights visit Temple for an American Athletic Conference clash on Wednesday seeking their third straight victory fueled by their trademark tenacious defense.
DePaul at Georgetown 7:00 PM ET
With its NCAA Tournament hopes all but dashed, Georgetown needs to concentrate on avoiding a second straight losing season beginning with Wednesday's Big East game against visiting DePaul. The Hoyas, who haven't endured back-to-back losing campaigns since the early 1970s, were no match for No. 20 Creighton on Sunday but own six straight victories against the Blue Demons.
Xavier at Seton Hall 7:00 PM ET
Suddenly skidding Xavier looks to snap a three-game losing streak and hopes to have leading scorer Trevon Bluiett back when it travels to Seton Hall on Wednesday. Bluiett, who missed the past two games with an ankle injury and is considered day-to-day, scored 24 points when the Musketeers defeated the Pirates by two points at home earlier this month, and they will need another victory to avoid their first four-game skid since 2012.
Texas A&M at Arkansas 8:30 PM ET
A three-game win streak has Arkansas looking like a contender for a spot in the NCAA Tournament - and it can increase those odds dramatically Wednesday night with a win over visiting Texas A&M. The Razorbacks are just a half game behind South Carolina for third place in the SEC, and can move into a tie with a ninth straight home win over the Aggies.
Minnesota at Maryland 8:30 PM ET

Minnesota has bolstered its postseason resume with five straight wins and hopes to add a bullet point with a road victory over a ranked opponent when it visits No. 24 Maryland on Wednesday. The Terrapins have won six of the seven all-time meetings, including an 85-78 triumph at Minnesota last month.

Louisville at North Carolina 9:00 PM ET
No. 8 North Carolina hosts sixth-ranked Louisville on Wednesday night in an ACC showdown that will likely be decided at the defensive end. The first-place Tar Heels, who lead Louisville by one game, are coming off their best defensive performance statistically in the Roy Williams era while the Cardinals must face the highest scoring team in the league after uncharacteristically surrendering 90 points last time out.
Oregon at California 9:00 PM ET
California looks to derail Oregon’s conference title hopes Wednesday as the Bears host the seventh-ranked Ducks, who sit one game behind first-place Arizona with three games to go. Cal is aiming for a bounce-back effort after watching its hopes for an NCAA Tournament at-large berth take a major hit with Saturday’s 73-68 loss to rival Stanford.
Oklahoma St. at Kansas St. 9:00 PM ET
When Oklahoma State lost at home to Kansas State last month, it looked like a lost season for coach Brad Underwood's Cowboys. The landscape has changed dramatically since then and Oklahoma State looks to continue its climb up the Big 12 standings when it visits the Wildcats in a critical conference affair Wednesday night.
Connecticut at Houston 9:00 PM ET
Connecticut, winners of seven of its last eight games, visits Houston on Wednesday with third place in the American Athletic Conference on the line. The Cougars hammered the Huskies earlier in the season but UConn turned things around and won its last four games.
Butler at Villanova 9:00 PM ET
Villanova aims to avenge one of its two losses Wednesday when the No. 2 team in the nation hosts 22nd-ranked Butler in an intriguing Big East clash. The Wildcats fell to the Bulldogs 66-58 in early January but have won 12 of 13 since and can clinch the top seed in the Big East tournament with a victory in this one.
Providence at Creighton 9:00 PM ET
Providence has long been eliminated from contention for a Big East regular-season crown, but it has done a fine job lately of denying the few remaining conference foes with a small chance of toppling Villanova. The visiting Friars attempt to win three in a row in league play for the first time this season Wednesday when they seek a series split with No. 23 Creighton.
Oregon St. at Stanford 11:00 PM ET
Stanford and Oregon State have been mired near the bottom of the Pac-12 standings for weeks, but both teams are riding high entering their matchup Wednesday in Palo Alto. The Cardinal forced 20 turnovers in Saturday’s 73-68 victory over rival California, while the Beavers snapped a 14-game losing streak with Sunday’s 68-67 upset of Utah.
