Preview Roundups
February 10, 2018
Northwestern at Maryland 12:00 PM ET
Northwestern looks to continue its late push for a postseason bid when it faces Maryland on the road Saturday. The Wildcats have won four of their last five games, including a 61-52 victory over 20th-ranked Michigan on Tuesday, to notch their first win over a ranked team this season and hope to stay on the winning path by knocking off the Terrapins in back-to-back meetings for the first time in program history.
Florida at South Carolina 12:00 PM ET

Florida still has the look of an NCAA Tournament team, but its recent missteps have left it with dwindling margin for error heading into Saturday’s road game against South Carolina. The Gators are looking for a second straight win following a stretch during which it lost three of four contests.

Temple at South Florida 12:00 PM ET
A resurgent Temple team seeks its fifth straight victory Saturday when it visits South Florida in an American Athletic Conference game. The Owls suddenly are a competent offensive team as opposed to the Bulls, who are one of the nation's worst offensive squads.
Marquette at St. John's 12:00 PM ET
St. John's is still buried in last place in the Big East, but it owns the most impressive two wins of any team in the country. The Red Storm will try to push their improbable winning streak to three in a row when they host Marquette on Saturday.
Butler at Villanova 12:00 PM ET
After Wednesday's stunning loss to St. John's, No. 1 Villanova hosts Butler on Saturday in a rematch of a game that went the Bulldogs' way six weeks ago. The Wildcats' earlier loss to Butler was their first and only defeat until the Red Storm - previously winless in Big East play - shocked the Wildcats with a four-point road win.
Oklahoma State at West Virginia 12:00 PM ET

With a mid-season swoon apparently in the past, No. 17 West Virginia seeks a third straight victory when it hosts Oklahoma State on Saturday. The victories have the Mountaineers back in the race for the Big 12 regular-season title as they sit a game back of Texas Tech and Kansas.

North Carolina at NC State 2:00 PM ET
No. 22 North Carolina has revived its season with two straight important wins and looks to avenge a recent loss when North Carolina State hosts the Tar Heels in another ACC showdown Saturday afternoon. North Carolina had lost three straight for the first time in four years before beating Pittsburgh by 31 and edging eighth-ranked Duke 82-78 on Thursday in the latest edition of the Tobacco Road rivalry.
Miami-Florida at Boston College 2:00 PM ET
With three straight ACC victories for the first time all season, including an 87-81 triumph over Wake Forest on Wednesday, No. 25 Miami is in the middle of an impressive stretch run and doing it without its most versatile player, Bruce Brown Jr., who has missed the last three games due to foot surgery. The Hurricanes head to Boston College on Saturday afternoon for the first of two matchups with the struggling Eagles, who have lost four of their last five.
Mississippi State at Missouri 2:00 PM ET

Two of the four teams involved in a fourth-place logjam in the SEC standings square off on Saturday, when Missouri hosts Mississippi State. The Bulldogs have won four straight and are trying to complete a season sweep of the Tigers.

Kansas at Baylor 2:00 PM ET
No. 10 Kansas bounced back from a home loss to Oklahoma State by slipping past TCU and begins a closing stretch with four of the remaining seven regular-season games on the road when it visits Baylor on Saturday. The Jayhawks need one more win to reach 20 for the 29th consecutive season -- the longest active streak in the NCAA.
Oklahoma at Iowa State 2:00 PM ET

With three losses in its last four games, any chance of Oklahoma contending for the top spot in the Big 12 seems to have slipped away. After a tough 75-73 home defeat to West Virginia, the 18th-ranked Sooners look to start one final surge when they visit Iowa State on Saturday.

Texas at Texas Christian 2:00 PM ET
Texas and host TCU are both looking for a way to climb out of the bottom half of the Big 12 standings when they meet Saturday. The Longhorns start the weekend in sixth place and a game ahead of the Horned Frogs, who are 11-3 at home.
Xavier at Creighton 2:30 PM ET
Fifth-ranked Xavier is still in the running for a No. 1 seed in next month's NCAA Tournament, but it can ill afford another collapse like the one it had earlier this week in an overtime victory over Butler. The Musketeers will look to make things a little easier on themselves Saturday afternoon as they visit Creighton.
Auburn at Georgia 3:30 PM ET
Ninth-ranked Auburn does not have much experience rebounding from a loss this season, but that is the position the Tigers are in entering Saturday’s trip to struggling Georgia for an SEC game. The Tigers fell 81-80 at home to Texas A&M on Wednesday, battling back from five double-digit deficits in the second half and overcoming a shoulder injury to leading scorer Bryce Brown, but their five-game winning streak ended after allowing 81 points for the second consecutive game.
Purdue at Michigan St 4:00 PM ET
No. 3 Purdue attempts to bounce back from its first loss since late November when it travels to take on No. 4 Michigan State in a Big Ten contest Saturday. The Boilermakers suffered their first league setback Wednesday against Ohio State, dropping them into a first-place tie with the Buckeyes, while the Spartans sit a game behind after winning their seventh straight at Iowa on Tuesday.
Florida State at Notre Dame 4:00 PM ET
Florida State looks to bounce back from a tough 59-55 home loss to No. 2 Virginia as it travels to South Bend to take on Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are feeling good about themselves after a 96-85 victory over Boston College on Wednesday that snapped a seven-game losing streak.
Rutgers at Nebraska 4:00 PM ET
Nebraska will try to continue making a case for an NCAA Tournament berth when it goes for its fifth straight victory Saturday over Rutgers in a Big Ten game. The Cornhuskers are coming off a 91-85 win at Minnesota on Tuesday and have an excellent chance to run the conference table with five games remaining against teams in the bottom half of the standings.
Mississippi at Louisiana State 4:00 PM ET
LSU hosts Ole Miss on Saturday in a matchup of struggling SEC teams, although the Tigers return home feeling a bit better about themselves. LSU defeated Arkansas 94-86 on Feb. 3 before giving Florida all it could handle in a 73-64 road loss Wednesday after leading 61-60 while freshman point guard Tremont Waters continues to experience growing pains.
Seton Hall at Georgetown 4:00 PM ET
Suddenly out of sync, Seton Hall will try to get it together in time for Saturday's Big East game at Georgetown. Losing on the road to No. 1 Villanova is one thing, but falling at home to Marquette is another entirely for the Pirates, who can complete a season sweep of the Hoyas with a win.
DePaul at Providence 4:00 PM ET
Providence will try to avoid glancing too far ahead on the schedule when it hosts DePaul in a Big East clash Saturday afternoon. The Friars have played themselves onto the NCAA Tournament bubble, but a slip-up at home against the lowly Blue Demons would deliver a damaging blow ahead of a matchup with top-ranked Villanova and a visit to fellow tourney hopeful Butler.
Iowa at Ohio St. 6:00 PM ET
No. 16 Ohio State looks to build on its biggest win of the season when it hosts Iowa on Saturday. The Buckeyes erased a 14-point second-half deficit en route to a 64-63 victory against third-ranked Purdue to grab a share of the lead in the Big Ten, and own the tiebreaker with the Boilermakers as they hope to take another step towards their first conference title since 2012 by sweeping the season series with the Hawkeyes.
Connecticut at Wichita St. 6:00 PM ET
Wichita State is in its inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference, but it already has a fond memory of league rival Connecticut. The 21st-ranked Shockers knocked off the Huskies 72-62 in their AAC debut back in December and look to complete a season sweep when they host UConn in the rematch on Saturday night.
Tennessee at Alabama 6:00 PM ET
Lamonte Turner continues making the most of his minutes off the bench and Tennessee is putting together a stellar season heading into Saturday’s road game against Alabama. The 14th-ranked Volunteers have won six games in a row entering the weekend, rising to second place in the SEC, and Turner’s go-ahead 3-pointer Tuesday vaulted Tennessee to a 61-59 victory at Kentucky as he finished with a game-high 16 points.
Virginia Tech at Virginia 6:15 PM ET
Virginia has a great chance to take over the top spot in the national rankings if it can win its 16th straight game Saturday against visiting Virginia Tech in an ACC matchup. The second-ranked Cavaliers, who rallied past Florida State 59-55 last time out, are primed to move up a spot after No. 1 Villanova fell to St. John's earlier in the week, and coach Tony Bennett knows his team will get everyone's best effort down the stretch.
UCLA at Arizona State 7:00 PM ET
The Pac-12 race remains wide open with three weeks left in the regular season, and UCLA and Arizona State are in the mix for the title heading into their game on Saturday in Tempe, Ariz. UCLA won at No. 13 Arizona 82-74 on Thursday to move a game behind the first-place Wildcats, the same night the Sun Devils came from behind to beat visiting USC and move three games back of the lead.
Texas Tech at Kansas State 8:00 PM ET

Riding a five-game win streak to become the first Big 12 team to reach 20 victories, Texas Tech is a serious threat to end Kansas’ 13-year run of Big 12 regular-season championships. The seventh-ranked Red Raiders, though, play three of their next four on the road in the nation’s top RPI conference, beginning with Saturday night’s visit to Kansas State.

San Diego St. at Nevada 8:00 PM ET
With 20 wins, a top-25 ranking and sitting in first place in the Mountain West Conference, Nevada appeared to be playing for NCAA Tournament seeding beginning the week. But after losing star forward Caleb Martin indefinitely to a foot injury and getting upset at home by in-state rival UNLV, head coach Eric Musselman says his 23rd-ranked squad needs to focus on more realistic goals heading into Saturday's home game with San Diego State.
Kentucky at Texas A&M 8:15 PM ET
Texas A&M has most of its team back together after injuries and several suspensions as it tries to continue climbing back into contention for an NCAA Tournament bid Saturday night when 24th-ranked Kentucky pays a visit for an SEC matchup. The Aggies are 5-1 since starting the league season 0-5 and have won three straight contests, capped by Wednesday’s 81-80 victory at ninth-ranked Auburn.
Vanderbilt at Arkansas 8:30 PM ET
Arkansas looks to reach .500 in SEC play when it hosts league rival Vanderbilt on Saturday night. The Razorbacks snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over South Carolina on Tuesday while the Commodores also got a victory after two straight defeats by topping Georgia on Wednesday.
California at Utah 9:30 PM ET

Utah has climbed back to .500 in the Pac-12 and is looking to move up in the conference standings. The Runnin’ Utes have a prime opportunity to do just that Saturday night when they host a young and struggling California squad in Salt Lake City.

Gonzaga at St. Mary's 10:00 PM ET
Gonzaga has won at least a share of 16 of the last 17 West Coast Conference regular season championships. To make it 17 out of 18, the 11th-ranked Bulldogs will likely need to pick up a tough road win on Saturday night at No. 12 Saint Mary's.
Washington at Oregon St. 10:00 PM ET
Washington looks to bounce back from one of its worst performances of the season on Saturday as the Huskies visit Oregon State, which is hoping to make a late climb up the Pac-12 standings. One of the most surprising teams in the country, the Huskies had their four-game winning streak snapped and registered a season-low point total in Thursday’s 65-40 loss to Oregon.
Southern California at Arizona 10:15 PM ET
Arizona holds a narrow lead atop the Pac-12 standings, but the team’s shaky defense makes it anybody’s race with six games to go. The 13th-ranked Wildcats hope their defense can catch up to their explosive offense starting Saturday against visiting USC, which missed an opportunity to move into a first-place tie with Thursday’s loss to Arizona State.
