Preview Roundups
January 26, 2017
Xavier at Cincinnati 7:00 PM ET
No. 19 Cincinnati carries a couple of impressive streaks into Thursday’s showdown against crosstown rival No. 22 Xavier, but the visiting Musketeers have one as well. While the Bearcats look to win their 11th game in a row and 20th straight at home, Xavier will be playing for a program-record fourth consecutive win in the rivalry.
Nebraska at Northwestern 8:00 PM ET
As NCAA Tournament buzz builds, Northwestern looks to push its winning streak to five games when it hosts Nebraska on Thursday in a Big Ten tilt. The Wildcats, who every year are reminded of their lifetime tourney drought, are narrowing in on a first-ever berth and extended the winning streak with their first victory at Ohio State in 40 years on Sunday.
Virginia Tech at North Carolina 8:00 PM ET
Virginia Tech snapped out of a rough stretch with two one-point victories last week and looks to ride that momentum when it visits sixth-ranked North Carolina for an ACC clash Thursday night. The Hokies edged Georgia Tech 62-61 after losing three of their previous four games and followed that up with an 82-81 triumph at Clemson on Sunday as senior guard Seth Allen poured in 17 points in both.
Oregon St. at Colorado 8:30 PM ET

Of the seven major college basketball conferences, only four teams have yet to win a league game. That total will at least shrink to three Thursday night with winless Pac-12 programs Oregon State and Colorado facing off in Boulder.

San Diego at Gonzaga 9:00 PM ET
Third-ranked Gonzaga attempts to move closer to matching the longest winning streak in program history when it hosts San Diego in West Coast Conference play on Thursday. The Bulldogs have won 20 consecutive games, tying the school's second-best mark, and are two victories away from equaling the record set by the 2014-15 squad.
Indiana at Michigan 9:00 PM ET
Indiana looks to continue its recent surge when it hits the road to face Michigan on Thursday. The Hoosiers have won three straight games, including an 82-75 victory over Michigan State on Saturday, to move within striking distance of No. 15 Wisconsin and 23rd-ranked Maryland at the top of the Big Ten standings.
Washington St. at Arizona 9:30 PM ET
After recording a signature win over red-hot UCLA, No. 9 Arizona looks to avoid a letdown Thursday against visiting Washington State, which has lost 10 in a row to the Wildcats. Arizona received an immediate boost in last Saturday’s 96-85 win over the Bruins from sophomore guard Allonzo Trier, who made his season debut and finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Oregon at Utah 10:30 PM ET
Oregon hopes to have its best player back on the floor when the No. 10 Ducks visit Utah for a Pac-12 game Thursday night. Dillon Brooks suffered a sprained foot last Thursday against California and the team's leading scorer didn't play in Saturday's victory against Stanford, but the 6-7 junior wing returned to practice Wednesday and is considered a game-time decision as Oregon looks to extend its school-record 16-game winning streak.
San Francisco at St. Mary's 11:00 PM ET
No. 21 Saint Mary’s rebounded from a double-digit loss to third-ranked Gonzaga with two convincing West Coast Conference wins and hopes to add another before going on the road when it hosts neighbor San Francisco on Thursday. The Gaels beat Pacific by a dozen and rolled over Pepperdine 85-65 on Saturday to prepare for the 178th meeting with San Francisco, which has won three straight.
