Indiana at Illinois 1:00 PM ET
A large portion of the spotlight will be on Indiana’s undermanned frontcourt when the Hoosiers visit Illinois for a Big Ten game Sunday. Indiana will be without junior forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea, who started the first 16 games before being sidelined indefinitely with a right knee injury he sustained during practice Monday. “With Hanner out, we will need everyone ready to do a little more,” Indiana coach Tom Crean said in a news release Tuesday.
St. John's at DePaul 2:30 PM ET
St. John's looks to continue its recent dominance over host DePaul when the two teams square off Sunday. The Red Storm have won nine of the last 10 meetings and hope to put a tumultuous start to Big East play in the rear view mirror. St. John's dropped out of the Top 25 with three straight losses before bouncing back with an 83-70 victory over Providence on Wednesday and turns its attention to beating the Blue Demons in Rosemont, Ill., for the fifth time in its last six tries.
Missouri St. at Northern Iowa 4:00 PM ET
Northern Iowa tries for its 12th consecutive victory at home when it meets Missouri State on Sunday. The No. 23 Panthers are 27-40 in the series against Missouri State, but have won six of the last seven meetings against the Bears and four straight. Northern Iowa was ninth in the nation in scoring defense (55.2 points per game) entering Saturday and has won four straight games, including a 63-52 victory at Bradley on Tuesday.
Virginia Tech at North Carolina 6:30 PM ET
North Carolina's Marcus Paige is rounding into form, which is bad news for the rest of the ACC. The preseason All-American has been slowed by a foot injury, but he enters Sunday’s contest against visiting Virginia Tech on a high note after scoring a season-high 23 points and going 5-of-5 from 3-point range in Wednesday’s 81-79 win over North Carolina State. The Hokies have lost four straight and face an uphill battle against the 16th-ranked Tar Heels, who lead the all-time series 64-13.
Oregon at Washington 8:30 PM ET
Two of the top shot blockers in the country take center stage Sunday when Oregon visits Washington, which is seeking its second straight win following a four-game losing streak. Washington 7-foot center Robert Upshaw leads the nation at 4.5 blocks per game, while Oregon 6-9 freshman forward Jordan Bell is fourth nationally at 3.5. Defense has become a growing concern for the Ducks, who allowed 108 points in Thursday’s nine-point overtime loss at Washington State.
