Preview Roundups
January 10, 2018
Duke at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski doesn't need to be told his team needs to get better, specifically on defense. After surrendering close to 100 points to a North Carolina State team which was coming off an embarrassing loss to Notre Dame, the sixth-ranked Blue Devils will get a chance to regroup Wednesday when they visit a young Pittsburgh squad that is just trying to find its footing.

Notre Dame at Georgia Tech 7:00 PM ET
Georgia Tech is known to spring upsets at home against ACC foes ranked in the Top 25, and No. 25 Notre Dame looks to avoid a second consecutive defeat on the Yellow Jackets' home court Wednesday in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets have won their past two games, including a 64-54 home victory over 17th-ranked Miami last Wednesday, and look to avenge a 68-59 defeat at Notre Dame in the ACC opener on Dec. 30.
Virginia Tech at Wake Forest 7:00 PM ET
Virginia Tech looks to build momentum as it heads to Winston-Salem to visit Wake Forest on Wednesday. The Hokies are coming off of a big road win at Pittsburgh on Saturday, giving them their first conference win, while the Demon Deacons will try to shake off a loss at Boston College.
Rutgers at Michigan St 7:00 PM ET
No. 4 Michigan State looks to bounce back from an ugly loss at Ohio State when it hosts Rutgers in a Big Ten Conference battle on Wednesday. The Spartans had their 14-game winning streak snapped by the Buckeyes, while the Scarlet Knights are coming off a home win over Wisconsin that halted their three-game skid.
Mississippi State at Florida 7:00 PM ET
Florida returns home from Saturday's stunning last-second 77-75 victory over Missouri that extended its winning streak to five straight to face SEC rival Mississippi State on Wednesday. The Bulldogs had their own five-game winning streak snapped their last time out, as they suffered their first SEC setback, 64-58 to in-state rival Mississippi.
Central Florida at Connecticut 7:00 PM ET
An already-elite Central Florida defense has been particularly stingy of late, putting the Knights in position for their third four-game winning streak of the season entering Wednesday's encounter with host Connecticut. UCF has bounced back from a narrow loss to SMU in its American Athletic Conference opener with defensive gems in victories over East Carolina, Memphis and Temple.
Xavier at Villanova 8:00 PM ET
Back at the top of the polls, Villanova could have a short stay at No. 1 if it can't solve Xavier when the Big East powers collide Wednesday. The host Wildcats have not been at their best defensively of late, while the 10th-ranked Musketeers are looking to rebound from a disappointing effort at Providence.
Oklahoma State at Kansas State 8:00 PM ET
Kansas State and Oklahoma State began the week in a five-way tie for fifth place in the ultra-competitive Big 12 Conference with 1-2 records. The two teams will try to get back to .500 in conference play when they meet Wednesday night at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kan.
Louisville at Florida State 9:00 PM ET
Florida State puts its 28-game home winning streak on the line Wednesday when the Seminoles host Louisville in their second ACC home game of the season. Both schools come off weekend losses as Florida State fell to 1-2 in conference play following an 80-74 defeat at the hands of No. 19 Miami, while the Cardinals come off just their second setback in their last nine games, a 74-69 overtime loss to 17th-ranked Clemson.
Minnesota at Northwestern 9:00 PM ET
Minnesota looks to bounce back from its first loss in nearly a month when it hits the road to face Northwestern on Wednesday. The Gophers saw their five-game winning streak come to an end following a 75-71 setback to Indiana on Saturday and hope to move back over .500 in Big Ten play by notching back-to-back victories against the Wildcats for the first time since 2012-13 following a 70-66 triumph last season.
Georgia at Missouri 9:00 PM ET

When it comes time to compare postseason credentials in March, Wednesday’s head-to-head matchup between Missouri and host Georgia could go a long way in deciding both teams’ fates. The Tigers and Bulldogs both have favorable RPI ratings, and one of them can receive another boost with a victory.

Louisiana State at Arkansas 9:00 PM ET
Arkansas looks to bounce back from two straight losses when it hosts LSU in a Southeastern Conference matchup on Wednesday. The Razorbacks lost a pair of conference games on the road last week, including a setback at Auburn on Saturday, while the Tigers come into the contest having won seven of nine, including a one-point victory at Texas A&M on Saturday.
Temple at Southern Methodist 9:00 PM ET
SMU has lost two games in a row and aims to snap that mini-skid against another scuffling team when it hosts Temple on Wednesday. The Owls have lost five in a row, including their first four games in American Athletic Conference action.
Texas Christian at Texas 9:00 PM ET
No. 16 TCU and host Texas are searching for the same thing when they meet Wednesday - better execution down the stretch in Big 12 Conference play. The Horned Frogs' league losses to ranked Oklahoma and Kansas teams are by a combined five points - and TCU coach Jamie Dixon blames his squad's defense.
Colorado at Southern California 10:00 PM ET

Colorado had perhaps the best 2018 opening week in college basketball, knocking off a pair of top-16 teams to charge back on to the Pac-12 and national radar. A new week, though, brings a new challenge as the Buffaloes seek their first road win of the season on a two-game Los Angeles swing, beginning with Wednesday night’s visit to USC.
