Preview Roundups
December 22, 2016
Boston at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics followed up a three-game slide with a three-game winning streak and will try to make it four in a row when they close out a three-game road trip by visiting the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. The Celtics erased a 17-point second-half deficit and earned a 112-109 victory in overtime at Memphis on Tuesday to clinch a winning trip.
Golden State at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors just wrapped up a three-game homestand in which they won all three games by an average of 29.3 points. The Warriors will take that momentum out on the road for the beginning of a three-game road trip that culminates with an NBA Finals rematch at Cleveland on Christmas Day and begins with a visit to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
Orlando at New York 7:30 PM ET
The New York Knicks are trying to take advantage of a brief stay at home and took the opener of a three-game homestand 118-111 over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. The Knicks, who were returning from a five-day trip on Tuesday and will embark on a three-game excursion next Wednesday, can clinch a winning homestand with a win over the visiting Orlando Magic on Thursday.
L.A. Lakers at Miami 8:00 PM ET
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside is mad and frustrated and that could be a bad thing for the visiting Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. Whiteside matched his career high of 32 points in Tuesday's 136-130 double-overtime loss to the Orlando Magic but was irate afterwards due to his lack of touches down the stretch.
San Antonio at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers didn't really miss Blake Griffin in their first game after his knee surgery but surely could use the perennial All-Star power forward on Thursday when they host the powerful San Antonio Spurs. Griffin fared well in a win over San Antonio earlier in the campaign, and the task of winning without him will be tough with the Spurs a dynamic 15-1 on the road this season.
