Preview Roundups
December 17, 2016
Phoenix at Oklahoma City 5:00 PM ET
Russell Westbrook failed to record a triple-double in three consecutive games and the Oklahoma City standout guard doesn't want to hear about it. Westbrook's club is much more successful when he does produce a triple-double and the Thunder look to halt a two-game losing streak when they host the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
Indiana at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons typically play well at home and the Indiana Pacers are faring poorly on the road. Detroit is a solid 8-4 at home entering Saturday's contest against the visiting Pacers, who are just 3-10 in enemy venues.
Charlotte at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets will attempt to salvage the finale of a dismal five-game road trip when they visit the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. Four straight losses to begin the trip - all to Eastern Conference foes - have altered the course for a Hornets team that opened 6-1 and was still five games over .500 to start the voyage.
L.A. Lakers at Cleveland 7:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers halted an eight-game losing streak and their task of attempting to win consecutive games for the first time in more than a month won't be easy when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. While Los Angeles is on the second part of a road back-to-back, the defending world champions haven't played since Wednesday — and they didn't play LeBron James, Kyrie Irving or Kevin Love in that contest.
Houston at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Houston Rockets will try to extend a pair of lengthy winning streaks and follow up a record-setting shooting performance when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. With Friday's 122-100 home win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the Rockets had won nine in a row for the first time since their franchise-record 22-game run in 2008.
New York at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets switched up their starting lineup, got a little healthier and found some extra offense in an impressive win on Thursday. Gary Harris and company will try to keep the momentum going when they host the New York Knicks on Saturday.
Portland at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors are at the point where they are striving for perfection and can find themselves unhappy even after double-digit wins. The Portland Trail Blazers, who visit the Warriors on Saturday, are just unhappy in general with five consecutive road losses, capped by a 132-120 setback at Denver on Thursday.
