Preview Roundups
December 08, 2016
Minnesota at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
A tight loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers sent the Toronto Raptors into a brief tailspin last month, and they hope a second doesn't lead to the same fate in December. The Raptors will try to bounce back and win for the seventh time in eight games when they host the Timberwolves on Thursday.
Denver at Washington 7:00 PM ET
John Wall wasn't the least bit happy after a career-best 52-point performance because his Washington Wizards continue to underachieve. Wall's sensational effort didn't even result in a victory and the Wizards, who possess a 7-13 record at the quarter pole of the NBA schedule, will attempt to start a turnaround when they host the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.
Portland at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers are trying to persevere through a tough road stretch as they play the third contest of the arduous slate when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday. Portland is in the midst of a five-game road trip as part of a span in which it plays eight of nine away from home.
Philadelphia at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans are enduring a three-game losing streak and went to double overtime before falling against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. The Philadelphia 76ers, who host the Pelicans on Thursday, can relate after taking a lead into the fourth quarter and falling to the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
Golden State at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The vastly improved Utah Jazz are seeking a signature victory to help announce their arrival but will be missing their starting backcourt when they host the powerful Golden State Warriors on Thursday. Point guard George Hill (toe) will sit out for the fourth straight game and shooting guard Rodney Hood (hamstring) also will be sidelined as Utah shoots for its fourth straight win and eighth in nine games.
San Antonio at Chicago 9:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs have yet to drop a road game in 13 attempts in 2016-17 and will try to wrap up a sweep of the current three-game trip when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. Spurs star forward Kawhi Leonard is on a roll and is helping the team overcome an injury to point guard Tony Parker.
