Preview Roundups
November 30, 2014
San Antonio at Boston 1:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs look to extend their winning streak to seven games when they hit the road to face the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The Spurs have won nine of their last 10 games to keep pace with the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets in the Southwest Division, which houses five teams with a .500 record or better. San Antonio is coming off a 112-104 win over the Sacramento Kings and hopes to begin its four-game road swing with its sixth straight victory over the Celtics.
Chicago at Brooklyn 3:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls look to conclude their seven-game road swing with a win over the Brooklyn Nets. Derrick Rose played 28 minutes after being limited to just 10 in his previous game to spark the Bulls to a 109-102 victory over the Boston Celtics and they hope to finish their road trip with a 4-3 record by beating the Nets for the fifth time in six meetings. "You have to think about where Derrick is," coach Tom Thibodeau said. "He's going to be fine, he just has to string a few games together."
Golden State at Detroit 3:30 PM ET
Greg Monroe is the only Piston remaining from the last Detroit team to beat the Golden State Warriors. Monroe and the Pistons look to end their recent streak of futility against Golden State when the red-hot Warriors visit the Motor City on Sunday. Golden State has won six straight in the series, last losing on Nov. 7, 2010 by a count of 102-97 when Monroe scored seven points in 18 minutes during his rookie season.
Memphis at Sacramento 6:00 PM ET
The Sacramento Kings had a chance to serve notice on the Memphis Grizzlies and the rest of the Western Conference a few weeks ago. There's no doubt the host Kings will not have forgotten the bitter taste from that Nov. 13 game when they attempt to snap an eight-game losing streak against Memphis on Sunday. The Kings squandered a 26-point lead and fell to the Grizzlies 111-110 when Courtney Lee banked home an alley-oop pass from a sideline out-of-bounds play at the buzzer.
Orlando at Phoenix 8:00 PM ET
The Phoenix Suns look to rebound from one of their worst performances of the season when they host the struggling Orlando Magic on Sunday. Goran Dragic told reporters the Suns, “couldn’t find a rhythm,” while shooting 38.8 percent from the field while surrendering a season-high 122 points at Denver on Friday after beating the Nuggets two days earlier. The Suns will attempt to take advantage of the Magic, who have dropped four straight while averaging 86.3 points in the process.
Minnesota at Portland 9:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t used to winning games this season and the Portland Trail Blazers aren’t accustomed to losing, but it’s the Timberwolves who’ will be riding a wave of momentum when they visit Portland on Sunday. Minnesota came from eight points down with five minutes left Friday to beat the host Los Angeles Lakers 120-119, not long after the Trail Blazers had a nine-game winning streak snapped in a 13-point loss to the visiting Memphis Grizzlies.
Toronto at L.A. Lakers 9:30 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors will be without standout guard DeMar DeRozan when they open a three-game road trip against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. DeRozan suffered a torn tendon in his left groin during Friday’s 106-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks and will be sidelined indefinitely. The Lakers have the worst record in the Western Conference and suffered a 120-119 home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
