Preview Roundups
November 25, 2016
San Antonio at Boston 1:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs will try to keep alive a perfect road record when they visit the surging Boston Celtics for a Friday afternoon tilt. A 119-114 win in Charlotte on Wednesday pushed the Spurs' road mark to 8-0, tying them with 2010-11 team for the best start away from home in franchise history.
Washington at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
Two teams looking for a spark to ignite a run of victories meet when the Orlando Magic host the Washington Wizards on Friday night in a Southeast Division clash. The Magic have lost two straight due to a sputtering offense after winning three of four and the Wizards knocked off Phoenix 106-101 on Monday with a 42-point effort from Bradley Beal, but they have yet to win two games in a row this season.
Dallas at Cleveland 7:30 PM ET
Kevin Love is settling in during his third season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and provided the best-scoring first quarter in the history of the NBA earlier this week. Love poured in an eye-popping 34 points over the first 12 minutes against Portland and looks to follow up a 40-point performance when Cleveland hosts the woeful Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
Charlotte at New York 7:30 PM ET
Behind budding star Kristaps Porzingis, the New York Knicks are turning their hallowed home into an advantage once again. The Knicks aim for their sixth straight win at Madison Square Garden when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Friday in the opener of a home-and-home set.
Chicago at Philadelphia 7:30 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls reached the finale of their six-game road trip but might be in for the biggest challenge yet against the surging Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. The Bulls won the first two stops at Portland and Utah but stumbled with losses in two of the last three before jetting to the east coast.
L.A. Clippers at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers will put a perfect road record on the line Friday, when they pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons. A 124-104 win at Dallas the last time out gave the Clippers a 7-0 mark away from home and a 14-2 overall record, both of which are the best in franchise history.
Atlanta at Utah 8:00 PM ET
George Hill rates as a vitally important player for a Utah Jazz squad that endured mediocre point guard play all last season. Hill returned from an eight-game absence to help Utah break a four-game skid earlier this week and looks for another strong game when the Jazz host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
Toronto at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
DeMar DeRozan remains at a 30-points-per-night level, but the Toronto Raptors are developing other scoring options and staying in the win column. The Raptors will try to find their way to back-to-back triumphs when they wrap up a five-game road trip by visiting the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.
Miami at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies are getting used to winning in different ways and look to record their seventh straight victory when they host the struggling Miami Heat on Friday in the opener of a home-and-home series. The Grizzlies won three in a row by blowout before outlasting the Philadelphia 76ers 104-99 in overtime on Wednesday after rallying from eight points down in the fourth quarter on the road.
Brooklyn at Indiana 8:00 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets are struggling to find the win column and are losers of five straight by an average of 19.4 points. The Indiana Pacers, who host the Nets on Friday, are hoping to avoid a three-game slide after failing to reach 90 points in either of the last two contests.
Oklahoma City at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder try for their seventh straight victory over Denver when they visit the Nuggets on Friday, and that task could become easier if the hosts do not have forward Danilo Gallinari for a second consecutive game. Gallinari, who averages team bests of 16.8 points and 36.2 minutes, missed Wednesday's 108-83 loss in Utah with a thigh injury and cannot exactly pinpoint what is wrong while not knowing when it occurred.
Minnesota at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves were expected to be a vastly improved team with veteran coach Tom Thibodeau taking over a roster that includes the past two Rookie of the Year selections in Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns. But so far, the Timberwolves look pretty similar to the squad that won just 29 games last season, and they hope to begin a turnaround when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
New Orleans at Portland 10:00 PM ET
Anthony Davis is scoring at will and the New Orleans Pelicans are on a roll following a dreadful start. Davis looks to lead the Pelicans to their fifth consecutive victory when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
Golden State at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The last time the Golden State Warriors lost a game was at the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 4, before ripping off a nine-game winning streak that included a 149-106 demolition of the Lakers at home on Wednesday. The Warriors will try to avenge that road loss and sweep the home-and-home set for their 10th consecutive triumph when they visit the Lakers on Friday.
Houston at Sacramento 10:30 PM ET
James Harden explodes for points, dazzles with passes for assists and also often struggles with turnover issues. The star guard will try to keep the latter issue under control when he and the Houston Rockets visit the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
