Preview Roundups
November 23, 2016
Memphis at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are enjoying their first winning streak since March of 2015 with back-to-back wins and won four of the last seven games while morphing into a formidable opponent. The Memphis Grizzlies, who visit the 76ers on Wednesday, are formidable themselves and are winners of five straight since rediscovering their magic on the defensive end.
San Antonio at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets dropped two in a row and four of their last six games and are about to take on an opponent skilled in exploiting another team's weaknesses. The Hornets will try to quickly solve their issues before they host the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
Phoenix at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The Orlando Magic have not been able to build any momentum this season and will attempt to start another winning streak when they open a three-game homestand against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. The Magic had a chance to win their third consecutive game Monday in Milwaukee, but turned the ball over 25 times in a dispiriting 93-89 loss.
Portland at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to maintain their home dominance when they continue a three-game stay at Quicken Loans Arena with a matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. After topping the Eastern Conference with 33 home wins a season ago, the Cavaliers have raced out to a 7-1 mark in 2016-17, including a 104-81 rout of Detroit on Friday to open the homestand.
Atlanta at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
Nate McMillan could face a thankless task when the Indiana Pacers head coach makes out his lineup for Wednesday night’s home contest with the Atlanta Hawks, considering he had no idea Tuesday if any of his top four scorers are healthy enough to play. The quartet of Paul George, Jeff Teague, Myles Turner and C.J. Miles, who combine for 64.7 points per contest, either did not play in Monday’s blowout loss to Golden State or were injured in the contest.
Boston at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
Any meeting between the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets takes on a special meaning above a regular-season game between division rivals due to their respective futures being intertwined. The Celtics will try to improve their draft position and their position in the standings when they visit the Nets on Wednesday.
Miami at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
Two teams desperately in need of a victory get together when the Miami Heat continue their road trip against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. The Heat dropped seven of their last nine contests after a 101-94 setback at Philadelphia on Monday and the Pistons are looking to snap a four-game losing streak – three of them by a total of eight points.
Toronto at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors are suddenly sliding and not even DeMar DeRozan can get them back on track. DeRozan will try to get the upper hand in a battle of prolific scorers when the Raptors visit James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
L.A. Clippers at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The best team in the NBA faces the worst squad in the league when the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The Clippers are a torrid 13-2 as they open a six-game road excursion while the Mavericks have lost 11 of 13 games during a dreadful start to the campaign.
Denver at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Utah Jazz got off to a solid 7-4 start, but some key injuries have led to a decline in which the club has lost four consecutive games. Utah attempts to get back in the victory column and avenge its most recent defeat on Wednesday, when it visits the Denver Nuggets.
Minnesota at New Orleans 9:30 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans look to follow up their most impressive win of the season and pick up their fourth in a row overall when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. In a game that saw their superstar forward Anthony Davis play just 19 minutes due to a knee bruise, the Pelicans still coasted past the Atlanta Hawks 112-94 on the road Tuesday night.
L.A. Lakers at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors have won eight consecutive games since being routed by the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 4 and now get two opportunities to exact revenge. Golden State hosts the Lakers on Wednesday before visiting Los Angeles on Friday to conclude the home-and-home set as it looks to deliver payback for the humbling 117-97 defeat earlier this month.
Oklahoma City at Sacramento 10:30 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder are spiraling in the wrong direction after a hot start and strive to begin a turnaround when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. Oklahoma City opened the campaign with six victories in seven games but has lost six of its last eight contests.
