Preview Roundups
November 09, 2016
Brooklyn at New York 7:00 PM ET
The New York Knicks have made some alterations to try to improve their struggling defense in advance of Wednesday's matchup with the cross-town rival Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Garden. A day after a 114-109 home loss to Utah, the Knicks placed assistant coach Kurt Rambis in charge of the team's defense, coach Jeff Hornacek told reporters.
Boston at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics were questioning everything about their team after getting crushed at home by the Denver Nuggets on Sunday and hope a couple days of practice provided some answers. The Celtics will try to put out a better effort when they visit the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
Utah at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets tied a franchise record with 75 first-half points in a 122-100 win over Indiana on Monday and are enjoying the best start in franchise history. There might not be another team in the NBA better at throttling a high-scoring offense than the Utah Jazz, who visit the Hornets on Wednesday.
Minnesota at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The Orlando Magic's winning streak ended with a disappointing performance, and they will try to get back on track with seven of their next 10 games at home, starting with a visit from the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The Magic won three straight before shooting 38.8 percent and getting outrebounded 62-44 in a 112-80 loss at Chicago on Monday.
Philadelphia at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers are two different teams at home and on the road and will try to keep their perfect home record intact when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday in the first of a home-and-home set. The 76ers have a perfect record hanging in the balance as well but would prefer to end their string of 43 losses in October and November that dates to 2013.
Chicago at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
After posting a statement win over the defending NBA champions, the Atlanta Hawks look to take down another Eastern Conference heavyweight when they host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Behind a career-high 28 points from Dennis Schroder and 25 more from Kent Bazemore, the Hawks recorded a 110-106 victory in Cleveland on Tuesday, handing the mighty Cavaliers their first loss of the season.
Toronto at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan are the two highest scorers in the NBA, but both cooled a bit after scalding starts. DeRozan will try to bounce back from a season-low 23 points on Sunday when the Toronto Raptors kick off a stretch with eight of 10 on the road by visiting Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
Detroit at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons opened a four-game road trip with a putrid performance and attempt to bounce back when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The Pistons dug themselves a 30-point halftime deficit Monday while being demolished 114-82 by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Houston at San Antonio 9:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs had three-plus days to reflect on the beating they took from the Los Angeles Clippers and attempt to regroup when they host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. San Antonio was trounced 116-92 by the Clippers on Saturday for its second straight home loss after compiling a 40-1 home record last season.
Portland at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers look to extend the best start in franchise history when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Los Angeles has played stellar defense during a 6-1 start and is coming off a 114-82 annihilation of the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
Dallas at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
Two-time MVP Stephen Curry has been adjusting to having Kevin Durant as a teammate but he just reminded everyone why he's the top long-range shooter in the sport. Curry knocked down a record 13 3-point baskets in Monday's 116-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans and looks for an encore performance against the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
