Atlanta at Washington 7:00 PM ET
Washington Wizards coach Scott Brooks is not jumping to conclusions after three contests, but it is clear his team must play better entering Friday’s home game against the Atlanta Hawks. Washington is 0-3 on the season, allowing 113 points per game, and committed 20 turnovers in Wednesday’s 113-103 home loss to Toronto.
Miami at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The Miami Heat took the second-seeded Toronto Raptors to seven games in the Eastern Conference semifinals last spring in a series that featured three overtime games. The Raptors, who won Game 7 116-89, will host the rematch when the Heat visit on Friday.
Charlotte at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets followed up a 30-point home loss with an impressive win and are still trying to figure out what kind of team they are on a nightly basis. The Nets will try to find some consistency and put together back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.
New York at Chicago 8:00 PM ET
The city of Chicago is electric after the Cubs won the World Series on Wednesday, but the baseball fever won't keep basketball fans from anticipating the return of Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. The two former Chicago stars will take the United Center floor for the first time in visitor's uniforms when the Bulls host the New York Knicks on Friday.
L.A. Clippers at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
Chris Paul and Blake Griffin don’t often play poorly on the same night and both players will be in bounce-back mode when the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. Paul and Griffin were a combined 11-of-32 shooting as Los Angeles’ offensive shortcomings sabotaged a fine defensive effort in Wednesday’s 85-83 home loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Phoenix at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
Anthony Davis turned in his worst game of the season on Wednesday and somehow the New Orleans Pelicans got the closest to a victory yet in the young season. Davis will try to put together a better effort and lead his team to its first win on Friday when the Pelicans host the Phoenix Suns, who finally found their way into the win column in overtime against Portland on Wednesday.
Portland at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Dallas Mavericks are one of four winless in the teams in the NBA and they look to end their season-opening funk when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Dallas established a season low for points in Wednesday’s 97-81 loss to the Utah Jazz and coach Rick Carlisle is already pondering making changes to the rotation.
San Antonio at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs suffered a rare home loss earlier this week when outplayed by Utah and now attempt to gain a measure of revenge when they visit the Jazz on Friday. Utah lost 10 straight games in San Antonio before offseason acquisition George Hill scored 22 points to lead the Jazz to a 106-91 victory over the Spurs on Tuesday.
Golden State at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
Kevin Durant’s showdown against his former club is now in the rearview mirror and the Golden State Warriors look to avoid a letdown when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Durant torched Oklahoma City for a season-best 39 points on Thursday in his first game against the Thunder since leaving as a free agent and the Warriors now turn their attention toward notching their fifth consecutive victory,
