Preview Roundups
November 01, 2016
Houston at Cleveland 6:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers appear intent on defending their NBA title and look to remain undefeated when they host the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. Cleveland defeated the Orlando Magic in the opener of a three-game homestand on Saturday and is looking to improve to 4-0.
Orlando at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is two games into his NBA career and is on a strict minutes limit but has no problem telling people that his peers are the best centers in the league. Embiid will try to keep backing up that strong talk and finally put the 76ers in the win column when they host another strong center in Nikola Vucevic and the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.
L.A. Lakers at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
All-Star forward Paul George and center Myles Turner are off to good starts but could use more help from their teammates when the Indiana Pacers host the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. George scored 20 or more points in all three games and Turner has two 20-point outings but Indiana lost two of its first three games.
Sacramento at Miami 7:30 PM ET
The Miami Heat will try for a third time to win their first home game of the season when they host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. After opening the campaign with a road win, the Heat have dropped consecutive contests at AmericanAirlines Arena to Charlotte and San Antonio, falling shy of 100 points in both setbacks.
New York at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons struggled on the defensive end in their season opener at Toronto last week and vowed to turn things around on that end - a pledge they apparently took seriously. The Pistons will try to hold a third straight opponent under 84 points when they host the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
Milwaukee at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the NBA but might not get a chance to show off his skills in the postseason again if the New Orleans Pelicans can't get healthy and find their way into the win column. The Pelicans will try to end a three-game slide to start the season when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
Memphis at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
Marc Gasol already set a career high for 3-point baskets just three games into the season and the standout center looks to continue his stunning outside shooting when the Memphis Grizzlies visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Gasol has made six 3-pointers this season after never making more than three in a season during his first eight NBA campaigns.
Utah at San Antonio 8:30 PM ET
Veteran center Pau Gasol finally broke loose with a double-double and looks for his second straight solid effort when the unbeaten San Antonio Spurs host the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. After three sluggish contests to begin his stint with the Spurs, Gasol had 20 points and 11 rebounds in Sunday's 106-99 win over the Miami Heat.
Golden State at Portland 10:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors won their last two games to erase some of the sting from an opening night loss at home, but both wins left the team feeling frustrated with its inability to come together smoothly. The Warriors will keep working the process when they continue their road trip by visiting the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.
