Preview Roundups
October 30, 2016
Utah at L.A. Clippers 4:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers were in midseason form as far as their fighting spirit was concerned in the season opener. The Clippers will try to keep that chip on their shoulder and pick up another win when they host the Utah Jazz in the home opener on Sunday.
Golden State at Phoenix 6:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors entered the season with great expectations but were embarrassed in the opener by the San Antonio Spurs and upset with their performance in victory on Friday. The Warriors will try to put everything together on both ends of the court when they continue their road trip by visiting the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
San Antonio at Miami 6:00 PM ET
The Miami Heat laid an egg in their home opener and will have a chance for redemption in front of their own fans when they continue a three-game homestand against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. After toppling the Orlando Magic on the road to begin the season, the Heat blew a 19-point second-half lead in a 97-91 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Friday in their first home game without Dwyane Wade since 2002.
Milwaukee at Detroit 6:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons rebounded from a disappointing season opener with a dominant victory and look to build off that when the Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit on Sunday. The Pistons, who reached the playoffs last season for first time since 2008-09, outscored Orlando by 21 in the second quarter en route to a 108-82 triumph on Friday after losing by 18 at Toronto.
L.A. Lakers at Oklahoma City 7:00 PM ET
A very young roster figures to be plagued with inconsistency, and the Los Angeles Lakers are displaying that within the first two games. The Lakers will try to find the strong offense that carried them to a win in the opener when they continue their road trip with a visit to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.
Washington at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
John Wall's first game of the season was a painful one - literally and figuratively - and the Washington Wizards star point guard will try to make amends when he leads his team into a matchup with the host Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. In a game that saw him fall to the floor multiple times - once when he drew a flagrant foul going in for a breakaway dunk - Wall finished 3-of-15 from the floor in Thursday's 114-99 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
Dallas at Houston 8:00 PM ET
James Harden is taking his role as point guard seriously, and the Houston Rockets are adjusting accordingly. Harden will try to get his teammates involved again when the Rockets host the Dallas Mavericks in the back end of a home-and-home set on Sunday.
