Preview Roundups
October 27, 2018
Boston at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics were supposed to start out hot and dominate the Eastern Conference this season, but several other teams are stepping up to contend. One such team is the undefeated Detroit Pistons, who will put their perfect record on the line when they host the Celtics on Saturday.
Utah at New Orleans 7:00 PM ET
Utah star Donovan Mitchell snapped out of his early season funk and looks to make it two straight big outings when the Jazz visit the unbeaten New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. Mitchell poured in 38 points and also recorded seven assists to lead the Jazz to a 100-89 triumph over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
Chicago at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
The Atlanta Hawks have a shot at their first three-game winning streak in two seasons when they host the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. Kent Bazemore scored 32 points for the Hawks in Wednesday's come-from-behind 111-104 win over Dallas in their home opener, which came three days after rookie and fellow guard Trae Young went for 35 in a rout at Cleveland.
Indiana at Cleveland 7:30 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to their worst start since LeBron James' rookie season and stand as the lone winless team left in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers will try to stick one in the win column when they host the division-rival Indiana Pacers on Saturday.
Charlotte at Philadelphia 7:30 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers may be without star center Joel Embiid when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Embiid rolled his left ankle when he stepped on the foot of teammate Amir Johnson during Friday's practice and is listed as questionable to play against the Hornets.
Portland at Miami 8:00 PM ET
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is capable of going on a scoring binge and taking over games, as he proved on Thursday. Lillard will try to follow up a 41-point outburst when the Trail Blazers host the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Phoenix at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
A 131-point outburst in a home win over the Atlanta Hawks last week is looking like the outlier for the Memphis Grizzlies, who are last in the NBA in scoring average (99.5) despite that triumph. The Grizzlies will try to put some points on the board when they return from a two-game trip and host the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.
Orlando at Milwaukee 8:30 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks can improve to 6-0 for the first time since 1971 when they take on the visiting Orlando Magic on Saturday. Behind a balanced attack in which they shot 53.3 percent from the floor and handed out a season-high 32 assists, the Bucks rolled to a 125-95 win at Minnesota on Friday night.
L.A. Lakers at San Antonio 8:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers have won consecutive games and attempt to reach the .500 mark when they visit the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. LeBron James recorded 28 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists as the Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 121-114 on Thursday.
