Preview Roundups
April 15, 2015
Charlotte at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors look to conclude another successful season by setting a franchise record with 49 wins when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. The Raptors missed a chance to set the new mark after suffering a heartbreaking 95-93 loss to the Boston Celtics on Tuesday and must beat the Hornets and hope the Chicago Bulls lose in order to finish as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
Atlanta at Chicago 8:00 PM ET
Chicago will still have a shot at the third seed in the Eastern Conference when it wraps up the regular season at home against Atlanta on Wednesday. The Bulls have won three straight to seize a half-game advantage on fourth-place Toronto entering Tuesday, but the Raptors had a game in hand and controlled their own destiny in the race for the third spot.
Portland at Dallas 8:00 PM ET
Portland and Dallas figure to go with some makeshift lineups when they finish the regular season with a Wednesday matchup in Texas. Both teams are cemented in their playoff spots and have their fair share of physical issues to work through before they take on yet-to-be-determined opponents in the first round.
Utah at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The Houston Rockets are battling for playoff positioning in the Western Conference as they close the regular season with a home contest on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz. Trying to figure out how it will all play out is confusing for MVP candidate James Harden.
Boston at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics look to close out the season with their sixth consecutive win when they travel to Milwaukee on Wednesday. The Celtics, who have won seven of their last eight games, clinched the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a last-second 95-93 victory Tuesday over the Toronto Raptors and will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in first round of the playoffs.
Oklahoma City at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder need to beat the host Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday and get some help from the San Antonio Spurs at the same time if they hope to advance to the playoffs for a sixth straight season. The Thunder and the eighth-place New Orleans Pelicans enter the final day of the regular season with identical records, but the Pelicans, who host the Spurs on Wednesday, own the tiebreaker.
San Antonio at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans are facing a must-win in the final game of the regular season as they attempt to hold off the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference. The Pelicans won’t get much sympathy on Wednesday from the visiting San Antonio Spurs, who are fighting for the No. 2 spot.
Orlando at Brooklyn 8:00 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets look to rebound from two ugly losses and give themselves a chance at a playoff berth when they host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday in the regular-season finale. The Nets, who were routed by a combined 50 points against Milwaukee and Chicago in their last two outings, need a victory and loss by Indiana against Memphis on Wednesday to grab the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.
Washington at Cleveland 8:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers were under .500 shortly before the season’s midway point and look to end the regular season in style when they host the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Cleveland was just 19-20 before turning its campaign around and has gone 33-9 since that mid-January troublesome spot.
Detroit at New York 8:00 PM ET
The New York Knicks, who are facing a major rebuilding effort, will get an up-close view of the player who could help them turn around their fortunes Wednesday when the Knicks conclude the worst season in franchise history with a visit from the Detroit Pistons.  According to an unnamed league executive in a report in the New York Daily News, Pistons big man Greg Monroe to New York is “about as close to a done deal as you can get."
Miami at Philadelphia 8:00 PM ET
The Miami Heat will go into their season finale at the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night without a chance to make the postseason. The Indiana Pacers ended Miami’s playoff hopes with a double-overtime victory over Washington on Tuesday and the Heat can only blame themselves after losing nine of their past 13 outings.
Indiana at Memphis 9:30 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers are closing in on a playoff spot as they close the regular season by visiting the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. Indiana has won six consecutive games and holds a one-game lead over the Brooklyn Nets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Denver at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors only needed to work on a few things over the last handful of games, among them getting Klay Thompson back in rhythm. It’s safe to say the All-Star guard found his groove, and the Warriors will just try to stay healthy when they close out the regular season by hosting the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
Sacramento at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Lakers and the Kings will finish playing out the string when Sacramento visits Los Angeles on Wednesday. The Lakers have already clinched the worst record in franchise history and reached 60 losses in the opener of the home-and-home series on Monday.
