Toronto at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The Orlando Magic seem to be relishing the spoiler role of late while knocking off two straight teams in playoff position and try to make it three when they host the Toronto Raptors on Friday. The Magic is building confidence for next season after three straight wins to match a season high, including a 105-103 triumph Wednesday against Chicago, which is fighting Toronto for third place in the Eastern Conference.
Charlotte at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets are running out of time to make a move on the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference and the schedule is not doing them any favors. The Hornets will try to make up some ground when they visit the top-seeded Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
Washington at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets are clinging to the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference with four games to play. The Nets will try to hang onto their standing when they host the Washington Wizards on Friday.
Boston at Cleveland 7:30 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers locked up the Central Division and the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference with a win on Wednesday and can start resting up for the playoffs. The Boston Celtics, who visit the Cavaliers in the first of a home-and-home set on Friday, are hoping for just that.
Indiana at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
Indiana has won three straight to keep alive its playoff hopes in the Eastern Conference, but a tough road lies ahead. The Pacers will try to take advantage of the only remaining nonplayoff contender on the schedule when they visit Detroit on Friday.
Milwaukee at New York 7:30 PM ET
Milwaukee looks to end another ill-timed slide and inch closer to a playoff berth when it visits New York on Friday. The Bucks enter with a magic number of two to clinch a spot in the postseason for just the third time in nine seasons, but they have backed toward that goal and still have a chance to slip into seventh or even eighth.
San Antonio at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The red-hot San Antonio Spurs are looking to rise up the Western Conference as they attempt to complete a back-to-back sweep of the host Houston Rockets on Friday. San Antonio has posted nine straight victories – including a 110-98 win over Houston on Wednesday – and suddenly sits a half-game behind the Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies for second place in the West.
Phoenix at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans are battling for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and look to move closer to landing it when they host the Phoenix Suns on Friday. New Orleans is tied for eighth place in the West with Oklahoma City and holds the tiebreaker after sweeping the season series with the Thunder.
Sacramento at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder seemed like a lock to make the playoffs two weeks ago, but now they’re on the outside looking in heading into their game Friday night against the visiting Sacramento Kings. The Thunder have lost four in a row and six of seven since March 25, while the New Orleans Pelicans have won five of their last seven to bump Oklahoma City into ninth place in the Western Conference.
Dallas at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Dallas Mavericks know they will be the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference but certainly aren’t mailing in the rest of the regular season. Dallas enters Friday’s road game against the Denver Nuggets knowing it must step up its play if it wants to avoid a quick playoff exit.
Memphis at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies once appeared destined to claim the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference but are now part of a four-team battle as they visit the Utah Jazz on Friday. Memphis is competing with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs as the season winds down and needs to step up its play down the stretch.
Minnesota at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers are fighting for position in the NBA draft lottery, and the Timberwolves are winning that dubious race. The Lakers will try to avoid moving one step closer to a 60-loss season when they host the Timberwolves on Friday.
