Preview Roundups
February 29, 2016
Indiana at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
All-Star forward LeBron James was given a rare day off and the results were disastrous, so now the Cleveland Cavaliers look to bounce back Monday when they host the Indiana Pacers. James didn't play in Sunday's 113-99 loss to the Washington Wizards — a contest in which Cleveland trailed by as many as 30 points and prompted coach Tyronn Lue to bench the team's other four starters.
Philadelphia at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Wizards are trying to make up ground in the Eastern Conference playoff race and seek to post their sixth victory in eight games when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Washington rolled to a 113-99 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday and sits two games behind the three teams — Charlotte, Chicago and Detroit — tied for the final two spots.
Utah at Boston 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Celtics have taken advantage of the beginning of their homestand with back-to-back wins and will try to make it three in a row when they host the Utah Jazz on Monday. The Celtics came out of the All-Star break sluggish on a three-game road trip that included an 18-point loss in Utah but are turning it around in their own building.
Houston at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
The Houston Rockets are having trouble stringing wins together and are leaving the door open for any team that may step up to challenge them for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Rockets will try to avoid their ninth loss in 13 games when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.
Memphis at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies are still trying to figure out life without star center Marc Gasol and looked like a team without a plan on Saturday. The Grizzlies will try to quickly get past an embarrassing loss when they visit a Denver Nuggets team expected to be without its leading scorer on Monday.
Oklahoma City at Sacramento 10:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder have lost four of their last five games and the latest defeat stings the most as they prepare to open a four-game road trip on Monday against the Sacramento Kings. Oklahoma City led the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors most of the night on Saturday before falling 121-118 in overtime on Stephen Curry's 32-foot 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left.
Brooklyn at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets are trying to get out into the open floor and run a little more since waiving Joe Johnson, and so far the results have been solid. The Nets will try to pick up a third straight victory when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.
