Denver at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets have lost three straight games against Eastern Conference opponents while dropping nine of their last 10 overall. The Nuggets hope to have better luck when they open a three-game trip against sub-.500 East teams at the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday. Denver had little success against a sub.-500 East team at home while being crushed 104-86 by the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.
Miami at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Miami Heat look to continue their recent success on the road when they take on the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. The Heat have won five of their last seven away from home and opened up a four-game road swing with an 83-75 victory over the Boston Celtics. Miami has held its opponents to 87 points or less in each of its last five victories and hopes to turn up the defensive intensity once more by beating the Pistons for the 10th time in its last 11 meetings at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Boston at New York 7:30 PM ET
The New York Knicks have doubled their victory total over the last seven games and attempt to record another win when they host the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. New York has won five of its last seven games after forward Carmelo Anthony scored 18 of his 31 points in the third quarter of Sunday’s 92-80 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Boston has lost three consecutive games after falling 83-75 to the Miami Heat on Sunday.
Utah at Portland 10:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers are trying to dig themselves out of the doldrums and the next opponent they take aim at is the visiting Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Portland has lost three straight games and eight of 10 in its worst skid of the season and the players want to see the slide end. “It’s been a tough month,” point guard Damian Lillard told reporters of January. “I’d rather it be this month than next month or March. I think we can learn something from it.”
Golden State at Sacramento 10:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors looked unlike themselves for two games and half of another before busting out and finding their winning form again on Saturday. The Warriors will try to put back-to-back wins together and stop a road slide when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. The Kings snapped an eight-game losing streak with a win at Indiana on Saturday, concluding a road trip that began with a 126-101 loss at Golden State on Jan. 23.
