Minnesota at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers look to continue their recent dominance over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Bankers Life Fieldhouse when the two teams square off on Tuesday. The Pacers have won the last five meetings in Indianapolis by an average margin of 15 points and hope the trend continues as they aim to move into eighth spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Indiana has won four of its last five at home and begins a mini two-game homestand before going on the road for five straight.
Atlanta at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
After an impressive victory at home, surging Atlanta looks to continue its run on the road when it visits Philadelphia on Tuesday. The Hawks pulled away in dominant fashion in a 120-89 win over Washington on Sunday to claim their eighth straight victory and improve to 22-2 in their last 24 games. They have also won a franchise-record eight straight on the road and five in a row overall against Philadelphia, including a 95-79 triumph at home on Dec. 10.
San Antonio at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs got their trip to the White House and visit with President Obama out of the way on Monday and will get back to basketball when they visit the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. The Spurs have pulled out of a rut that lasted nearly all of December and are winners of four of the last five. The Wizards earned a big win on Friday over Chicago but were crushed against another East contender in a 120-89 loss at Atlanta on Sunday.
Cleveland at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
LeBron James could make his return from multiple injuries when the slumping Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. The forward is considered a game-time decision for the contest against Phoenix after receiving limited practice time on Monday and not suffering a setback. James has missed the past eight games due to back and knee injuries and Cleveland has lost five straight and eight of its last nine.
Golden State at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors just finished a homestand as dominating as any for which the team could have hoped, and the NBA’s top team continues to impress. The Warriors will open a stretch of three of four on the road when they visit the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Golden State swept its six-game homestand by an average of 22.2 points and got center Andrew Bogut back from a knee injury during the stretch.
Dallas at Sacramento 10:00 PM ET
The Sacramento Kings are hoping point guard Darren Collison will make a difference when they host the Dallas Mavericks in their second meeting of the season Tuesday night. Collison missed the first game against Dallas because of a shoulder injury and the Kings committed 17 turnovers in the second half while blowing a 24-point lead in the eight-point loss on Nov. 11. Collison is averaging 16.6 points and six assists on the season and shooting 58.2 percent from the floor in the last eight games.
Miami at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Miami Heat put together a solid effort against one Los Angeles club and now look to defeat the other when they visit the Lakers on Tuesday. Miami played a strong contest while registering a 104-90 victory over the Clippers on Sunday and attempts to follow up the solid showing. “When we come to play, we can do so much,” center Chris Bosh told reporters. "But we’ve been our own worst enemy. We’re just going to have to fight ourselves.”
