Preview Roundups
January 10, 2017
Chicago at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls will be without their top two scorers when they visit the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. Leading scorer Jimmy Butler was left home with an illness after struggling during Monday's loss to Oklahoma City and veteran shooting guard Dwyane Wade will be held out for rest in the second contest of a back-to-back set.
Boston at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Celtics won four straight and six of their last seven, and now have their sights set on moving further up the Eastern Conference standings. The streaking Celtics can take a big step in that pursuit when they visit the struggling Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
Atlanta at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
A six-game winning streak meets a six-game slide when the Atlanta Hawks visit the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. The Hawks seemed to announce the start of a sell-off by shipping Kyle Korver away but are thriving behind a defense holding opponents to an average of 96 points over the last six contests.
Charlotte at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets are not off to the best start on their five-game road trip, and it's not about to get any easier. The Hornets will try to get out of Texas with a win after losing at San Antonio on Saturday when they visit the Houston Rockets on Tuesday.
Milwaukee at San Antonio 8:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs won the three games they played last week by an average of 24.3 points and are starting to put some pressure on the Golden State Warriors atop the Western Conference. The Milwaukee Bucks, who visit the Spurs on Tuesday, aren't quite at that level yet but are capable of beating any team as long as Giannis Antetokounmpo is healthy enough to play.
Cleveland at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers blew a 20-point, second-half lead against the Phoenix Suns before prevailing for a victory and the close call serves as a reminder that they will face a test from the host Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Cleveland held on for a 120-116 victory over the Suns on Sunday in the second contest of a six-game road trip that prompted mixed emotions from coach Tyronn Lue and star forward LeBron James.
Portland at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers continue to dominate the Los Angeles Lakers and strive to record their 10th consecutive win in the series in Tuesday's contest in Los Angeles. Portland notched its franchise-record ninth straight victory over the Lakers 118-109 on Thursday behind 27 points from shooting guard C.J. McCollum.
Miami at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors seemed to be in danger of suffering back-to-back losses in the regular season for the first time in 124 games before finding their stride on both ends of the court in the second half at Sacramento on Sunday. The Warriors will try to put together a full 48 minutes of execution on both ends when they host the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
Detroit at Sacramento 10:30 PM ET
DeMarcus Cousins is mired in a three-game shooting slump and it comes as no surprise that the Sacramento Kings lost all three games. Cousins and the Kings attempt to get back on track when they host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.
