January 01, 2017
San Antonio at Atlanta 6:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs won back-to-back games without star small forward Kawhi Leonard in the lineup but are hoping he can recover from an illness in time to join the team for a road contest against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday. The Hawks are trying to pull off a three-game homestand sweep after taking out the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons.
Detroit at Miami 6:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons are hopeful that a strong finish in their last game can spark a much-needed turnaround, beginning with a visit to the Miami Heat on Sunday. The Pistons have spiraled toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference with seven losses in their last eight games, but they made things interesting in Friday's 105-98 loss at Atlanta with a 36-point fourth quarter.
Orlando at Indiana 6:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers snapped a four-game slide by asserting their dominance at home against the Chicago Bulls on Friday. The Pacers, who improved to 12-5 at home with the win, will try to make it two in a row when they host the Orlando Magic on Sunday.
Portland at Minnesota 7:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers continue to sink down the standings while the Minnesota Timberwolves are beginning to find the win column with more consistency. The Timberwolves will try to earn back-to-back wins at the expense of their Northwest Division rivals when they host the Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Toronto at L.A. Lakers 9:30 PM ET
A west coast road trip that started out promising is taking a dark turn for the Toronto Raptors, who followed up a loss at Golden State with a setback at Phoenix after winning the first two of the six-game trek. The Raptors will try to avoid their first three-game slide of the season when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
