Toronto at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
J.A. Happ looks to rebound from his first defeat in more than 2 1/2 months when the visiting Toronto Blue Jays continue their three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night. The Blue Jays extended their winning streak to four with a 5-1 win Monday night to move four games ahead of Baltimore atop the American League East.
Washington at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
Max Scherzer is making a late push to get his name into the National League Cy Young conversation and goes for his 15th victory Tuesday night when the visiting Washington Nationals continue their three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Washington eased to a 4-0 win in the series opener, beating the Phillies for the seventh straight time this season.
Tampa Bay at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox need the Toronto Blue Jays to start losing some games if they want to jump back into first place in the American League East. The Red Sox will try to do what they can to move up in the standings by taking the first two from Tampa Bay when the Rays visit for the second of a three-game series on Tuesday
Chi. White Sox at Detroit 7:10 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers could not afford a third straight loss to a sub-.500 team if they wanted to keep the pressure on in the American League wild card race, and the bats came through just at the right time. The Tigers will try to make it back-to-back victories when they host the Chicago White Sox in the second of a three-game series on Tuesday.
Minnesota at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
A return home did nothing to boost the sluggish offense of the Cleveland Indians, who will look to get their bats untracked in the middle contest of a three-game set versus the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night. Despite being limited to one run for the seventh time in eight games, the Indians earned their second 1-0 win in that span in the series opener.
San Diego at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
When the San Diego Padres open a three-game series Tuesday at the Atlanta Braves, they will be hard pressed to replicate the efficiency shown in Sunday’s series-clinching victory at Miami. San Diego turned a team-record six double plays and got a 99-pitch complete game from rookie Luis Perdomo, as the Padres look to end a disappointing August on an upswing.
Miami at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets moved themselves back into the National League wild card race with some improved offense of late but still needed 10 innings to get to two runs on Monday. The Mets will try to build off that walk-off victory when they host the Miami Marlins in the second of a key four-game series on Tuesday.
Seattle at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Texas Rangers attempt to further pad their lead in the American League West when they host the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game set. Texas posted a 6-3 victory in the series opener to remain 8 1/2 games ahead of Houston and move 9 1/2 in front of Seattle.
Pittsburgh at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET

The magical feeling continues to build at Wrigley Field, where the Chicago Cubs aim for their sixth straight home victory when they continue their three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. The Cubs maintained their 14-game lead in the National League Central and added to their major league-best record with an 8-7 win in 13 innings in the series opener.

Oakland at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The Houston Astros are surging at the right time and seek their ninth win in 11 games when they host the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game set. The Astros rolled to a 6-0 victory in the series opener and sit two games behind Baltimore for the American League's second wild-card spot.
St. Louis at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals could badly use a turnaround from veteran right-hander Adam Wainwright to further their chances of securing a National League wild-card spot. Wainwright is mired in a stretch of seven consecutive winless starts as St. Louis enters Tuesday's contest against the host Milwaukee Brewers.
NY Yankees at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals look to continue their surge toward a postseason spot when they host the New York Yankees on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game set. Kansas City, which is on an 18-4 run, withstood a late comeback attempt in the series opener to post its fourth victory in five contests - an 8-5 triumph that pulled it within two games of Baltimore for the second wild-card spot in the American League.
LA Dodgers at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies have established a pattern of playing up — and down — to the competition, a trend that continued in the opener of their three-game series against the National League West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies go for their fourth consecutive victory when they host the Dodgers on Tuesday after breezing to an 8-1 win in the series opener.
Cincinnati at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
Albert Pujols has matched a big name on the all-time home run list and looks to add to his total when the Los Angeles Angels host the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday in the second contest of a three-game set. Pujols slammed his 586th career homer in Monday's 9-2 rout of the Reds to tie Hall of Famer Frank Robinson for ninth place on the all-time homer ledger.
Arizona at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday in the opener of a two-game series and hope Sunday's offensive explosion snaps them out of a slump which has persisted since the All-Star break. San Francisco (71-59) is 14-26 since the Midsummer Classic after its 13-4 victory over Atlanta on Sunday, and is 1 1/2 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West but 3 1/2 clear in the wild card race.
