Maple Leafs 3, Senators 2 (SO): Peter Holland scored the decisive goal in the seventh round of the shootout as Toronto slowed Ottawa's playoff charge with its second home win over the Senators in nine days.

Holland lifted a forehand over the pad of Andrew Hammond after Jonathan Bernier (43 saves) denied the final six attempts in the bonus format to give the Maple Leafs their first three-game home winning streak since Dec. 13-16. James van Riemsdyk scored in his third straight game and Joffrey Lupul also tallied as Toronto beat Ottawa for the sixth consecutive time at Air Canada Centre.

Rookie Mark Stone had a goal and an assist and captain Erik Karlsson scored in the fourth straight game beyond regulation for the Senators, who are two points behind Detroit and Pittsburgh for the wild-card spots in the Eastern Conference. Kyle Turris had two assists and Hammond turned aside 36 shots to lose for only the third time in 20 starts (17-1-2) for Ottawa, which is also two points back of third-place Boston in the Atlantic Division with three to play.

Stone scored for the third straight contest and extended his point streak to five games with a power-play goal 69 seconds into the third, ripping a one-timer from the right circle past Bernier to tie it at 2-2. Hammond made a spectacular lunging save to rob Phil Kessel with just under eight minutes remaining while Bernier turned away Stone and Jean-Gabriel Pageau in overtime.

Lupul opened the scoring just over three minutes into the contest, tucking a rebound around Hammond for the lone goal of the first period. Karlsson skated in and buried a rebound at 7:15 of the second before Toronto reclaimed the lead when Holland, returning from a 10-game absence, set up an oncoming van Riemsdyk for an easy conversion in the slot 2 1/2 minutes later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Karlsson set the franchise record for defensemen with his 21st goal, which is the second-highest total for a Swedish-born blue-liner behind Arizona's Oliver Ekman-Larsson (23). ... Lupul halted a 27-game goalless drought with his first tally since Dec. 29. ... Senators F Clarke MacArthur notched his 300th career point on Stone's goal while Turris established a career high with 60 points, surpassing his previous best of 58.
