Lightning 5, Canadiens 3: Vladislav Namestnikov recorded two goals and an assist as visiting Tampa Bay clinched a playoff berth while completing a five-game season series sweep of Montreal.

Defenseman Anton Stralman registered an assist and an empty-net goal in the final minute while rookie Jonathan Drouin and Nikita Kucherov also tallied for the Lightning, who posted their franchise-record 47th win. Ben Bishop turned aside 25 shots and matched Ondrej Palat with two assists while tying his team record with his 37th victory.

Max Pacioretty netted his 37th goal while defensemen Jeff Petry and P.K. Subban also scored for Montreal, which saw its lead over second-place Tampa Bay in the Atlantic Division shrink to one point. Carey Price made 39 saves but dropped to 0-4-1 against the Lightning this season while allowing a total of 16 goals.

Bishop pushed the puck up the left wing to captain Steven Stamkos, who sent Namestnikov in for a breakaway 1:24 into the second period to open the scoring. Pacioretty tied the game while short-handed at 4:24 after a turnover, but Stralman sprung Drouin in alone 33 seconds later, and the rookie deked before shoveling a shot over Price for a power-play tally.

The Lightning registered 31 shots over the first 40 minutes, and Kucherov’s one-timer from the right faceoff dot with 1:53 left in the second made it 3-1. Petry’s goal from the left point 23 seconds into the third halved the deficit before Palat avoided two hits to set up Namestnikov, who beat Price from the edge of the left circle at 6:21.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bishop, who is 10-1-2 lifetime against Montreal, is the first NHL goalie to post two assists in a period since Chicago’s Nikolai Khabibulin accomplished the feat against Tampa Bay on Nov. 28, 2007. … The Lightning have lost Jason Garrison for 3-4 weeks and fellow D Andrej Sustr for 1-2 weeks while C Tyler Johnson is considered day-to-day – all with upper-body injuries. … Pacioretty has recorded six points in his last six games and boasts a career-high 66. … Tampa Bay D Victor Hedman left the game for an undisclosed reason early in the third period and did not return.
