Penguins 5, Ducks 2: Patric Hornqvist recorded his fourth two-goal performance of the season as visiting Pittsburgh posted its fifth win in six contests.

Evgeni Malkin extended his point streak to seven games with a goal and an assist for the Penguins, who improved to 1-1-0 on their four-game road trip. Captain Sidney Crosby and Blake Comeau both also netted a tally and set up another while Thomas Greiss made 27 saves en route to his first career victory over Anaheim (1-3-2) as Pittsburgh climbed within two points of the New York Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division.

Tomas Fleischmann and Corey Perry scored for the league-leading Ducks, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Frederik Andersen turned aside 16 shots as Anaheim lost for the second time in nine contests.

After a scoreless first period, Comeau beat Andersen to the glove side with a blast from above the right faceoff circle midway through the second to put Pittsburgh in front. Hornqvist doubled the lead two minutes later by banking the puck off the netminder's hip from the right side of the crease before making it 3-0 with 1:03 left in the session with a redirection of defenseman Ian Cole's one-timer.

Malkin increased the advantage 2:03 into the third when his shot from the right circle bounced off Andersen and trickled over the goal line. Fleischmann ended Greiss' shutout bid seven minutes later with a shot from above the right circle that the goaltender was unable to snag with his glove, and Perry tallied with 6:52 remaining to get Anaheim within two before Crosby scored into an empty net.
