Ducks 3, Stars 1: Defenseman Clayton Stoner scored his first goal in 58 games early in the third period to snap a tie and John Gibson made 39 saves as visiting Anaheim skated to its fifth win in six contests.

Corey Perry and captain Ryan Getzlaf each added a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who moved within two points of league-leading Nashville. Jiri Sekac notched an assist for his second point in three games with Anaheim after recording just one in his final 18 contests with Montreal.

Dallas' Patrick Eaves scored a power-play goal in his return from a seven-game absence due to a concussion. Jhonas Enroth turned aside 19 shots in falling to 0-4-0 since joining the Stars, who are mired in a six-game skid (0-4-2).

Stoner unleashed a blast from above the left faceoff circle that trickled past a screened Enroth at 4:19 of the third to give the Ducks a 2-1 lead. The goal was Stoner's first since he scored for Minnesota on March 18 versus the New York Islanders, and Getzlaf provided insurance by beating Enroth over his glove on a breakaway with 5:51 remaining.

Sekac wristed a saucer pass to Perry, who chipped the puck past a sliding Enroth with 2:14 left in the opening session for his team-leading 27th goal and third in two contests. Eaves chipped home a loose puck from the doorstep with 2:09 to play in the second as Dallas outshot Anaheim by a 17-3 margin in the period.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Stars traded LW Erik Cole and a third-round pick in the 2015 draft to Detroit for prospects D Mattias Backman and C Mattias Janmark as well as a second-round selection in 2015. ... Anaheim LW Tomas Fleischmann was scratched one day after being acquired from Florida for veteran Dany Heatley and a third-round pick in this year's draft. ... Ducks RW Tim Jackman suffered a lower-body injury in the first period and did not return.
