Senators 3, Ducks 0: Andrew Hammond benefited from a strong defensive effort to post his first career shutout as visiting Ottawa recorded its third consecutive victory.

Erik Condra and Mika Zibanejad scored while Kyle Turris added an empty-netter for his fifth goal in six games for the Senators, who completed a sweep of the two-game season series and moved within seven points of eighth place in the Eastern Conference with two games in hand. Hammond turned aside 25 shots in his third straight start - and third overall in the NHL - while Bobby Ryan notched an assist against his former team.

John Gibson finished with 31 saves for the Ducks, who fell to 1-1-0 on their three-game homestand. Anaheim was blanked for the third time this season - and first since Dec. 31 - as it had its three-game winning streak halted.

Ottawa opened the scoring midway through the first period as defenseman Eric Gryba unleashed a blast from the right point that deflected off Condra and past Gibson. The tally was Condra's seventh of the season and extended his point streak to five games.

The Senators doubled the lead early in the second, when Zibanejad netted his second goal in 10 contests. Rookie Mike Hoffman fired a shot from the outer edge of the left faceoff circle that Gibson stopped, but Zibanejad buried the rebound from the doorstep at 3:23 to create breathing room.

Linesman Steve Miller left the game in the first period after being struck in the face by the butt-end of Ottawa C David Legwand's stick during a faceoff but returned to start the third session.
