Flames 3, Devils 1: Sean Monahan scored a power-play goal to snap a tie early in the third period as visiting Calgary moved into the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

Curtis Glencross netted his third tally against New Jersey this season for the Flames, who ended a three-game winless skid (0-2-1) and improved to 1-1-0 on their season-high seven-game road trip. Defenseman T.J. Brodie added an empty-net goal, captain Mark Giordano had an assist for his career-high 48th point and Karri Ramo finished with 26 saves.

Former Flame Mike Cammalleri scored his team-leading 23rd goal and fifth in four contests for the Devils, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end. Jordin Tootoo had an assist to extend his point streak to four games and Cory Schneider turned aside 23 shots while making his league-high 52nd start.

Calgary made New Jersey pay for a slashing penalty at the conclusion of the second period, as Monahan redirected Giordano's wrist shot from the right circle past Schneider just 35 seconds into the third to give the Flames a 2-1 lead. Monahan's team-leading 21st goal stood up as the winner as Brodie deflated the Devils' third power-play opportunity by scoring into the empty net with 40 seconds left.

After scoring twice in New Jersey's 3-0 triumph over Arizona on Monday, Cammalleri continued his hot hand by depositing Tootoo's drop pass between the pads of Ramo to draw first blood with 2:57 remaining in the first period. Cammalleri's bid for his second goal hit the post late in the second and Glencross shoveled home Joe Colborne's backhanded centering feed to forge a tie with 14 seconds left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Giordano left the game in the third period with an undisclosed injury and will be re-evaluated Thursday. ...
