Pittsburgh opened the scoring 9:18 into the contest as defenseman Kris Letang forced a turnover in the right faceoff circle and went behind the net before dishing the puck to Hornqvist, who beat Montoya from the doorstep. Malkin doubled the lead with 27 seconds remaining in the middle session, picking up a loose puck at the blue line and backhanding it between Montoya's pads from the right circle.
Martin made it 3-0 just 19 seconds into the third, ripping a shot from the left circle that beat Montoya high to the glove side.
