Canucks 4, Islanders 0: Eddie Lack stopped 27 shots in relief of an injured Ryan Miller (10 saves) as visiting Vancouver skated to its fifth win in seven games.

Radim Vrbata scored on the power play and assisted on Zack Kassian's man-advantage tally for the Canucks, who completed a two-game season sweep of New York with their fifth win in the last six meetings. Rookie Bo Horvat also scored, defenseman Yannick Weber added an empty-net tally and captain Henrik Sedin notched two assists to record his fourth straight multi-point performance.

New York's Jaroslav Halak (20 saves) was denied in his second attempt to secure his franchise-best 32nd win of the season, remaining tied with Billy Smith (1981-82), Chris Osgood (2001-02) and Rick DiPietro (2006-07). The Metropolitan Division-leading Islanders failed on all five power-play opportunities en route to losing their second straight contest after posting wins in six of their previous seven.

Vancouver drew first blood just 28 seconds into the middle period as Kassian wired a shot from the right faceoff circle that pinballed off both the left post and Halak's leg before trickling into the net. Kassian's goal was his third in two games, but the Canucks' good vibes didn't last long as Miller's right leg was bent awkwardly following a collision with teammate Jannik Hansen - causing the veteran netminder to pound the ice in pain before exiting at 1:11.

Lack was tested quickly and made an acrobatic save on Josh Bailey at the doorstep before Vrbata squeezed a shot inside the left post from the near circle midway through the session to double the lead. The Canucks made it 3-0 four minutes later, as Ronalds Kenins settled the puck near the hash marks along the right-wing boards and set up Horvat's wrist shot from the circle that sailed over the shoulder of Halak.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Vancouver recorded its first team shutout since Gs Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider combined to blank Colorado on Dec. 6, 2011. ... New York captain John Tavares was held off the scoresheet, putting an end to his five-game point streak. ... Long Island native Chris Higgins logged 14:18 of ice time for Vancouver. ...
