Senators 4, Panthers 1: Kyle Turris scored a goal and helped set up two others as host Ottawa posted its third win in the last four contests.

Bobby Ryan ended a seven-game goalless drought with his 15th of the season while captain Erik Karlsson and rookie Curtis Lazar also tallied for the Senators, who improved to 4-1-1 in their last six. Milan Michalek notched a pair of assists and Andrew Hammond turned aside 21 shots for his second victory in his second NHL start.

Aleksander Barkov recorded his ninth goal of the campaign for the Panthers, who missed a chance to take possession of the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Roberto Luongo made 35 saves but allowed more than two goals for the first time in eight outings.

The Senators took a 2-1 lead just after a power play ended 8:40 into the second session as Ryan redirected Turris' shot from the left point over Luongo. Karlsson was sprung loose by Michalek and beat Luongo to the glove side at 8:03 of the third before Lazar scored on a breakaway after receiving a pass from Jean-Gabriel Pageau with 7:51 remaining for a 4-1 lead.

Florida defenseman Brian Campbell made a nifty move in the right corner to send the puck in front, where Jonathan Huberdeau slid it to Barkov, who knocked it home from the doorstep 7:38 into the game. Ottawa tied it 2:38 later, when Turris beat Luongo from the bottom of the left faceoff circle after Mark Stone’s deflected cross-ice pass.
