Sharks 5, Stars 2: Andrew Desjardins registered his second career two-goal performance as visiting San Jose recorded its second win in seven games.

Defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Patrick Marleau and Tommy Wingels also scored for the Sharks, who improved to 2-0-0 in the three-game season series. Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl each notched two assists and Antti Niemi finished with 37 saves.

Blue-liner Trevor Daley recorded a goal and an assist while Erik Cole also tallied for the Stars, who have allowed five goals in each loss to the Sharks. Jamie Benn picked up two assists and Kari Lehtonen yielded three tallies on 17 shots before being replaced by Jhonas Enroth, who turned aside all nine shots he faced.

San Jose grabbed an early lead as Logan Couture made a pass from the right corner to Vlasic, who shoveled the puck past Lehtonen from the doorstep 3:24 into the contest. Desjardins doubled the advantage at 3:38 of the middle period, tipping Hertl's shot from the outer edge of the right faceoff circle for his fourth of the season.

Desjardins made it 3-0 - and chased Lehtonen - just 2:36 later with a wrist shot from just above the right circle. Daley got Dallas on the board during a power play eight minutes into the session, tapping the puck over the goal line after several jam attempts by Benn, and Cole converted a backhand pass from behind the net by the Stars captain with 2:16 remaining in the third before Marleau and Wingels scored empty-netters to seal the win.
