Wild 3, Flames 2 (OT): Captain Mikko Koivu scored at 1:50 of overtime as visiting Minnesota edged Calgary.

Koivu received Charlie Coyle's pass at the top of the slot and drifted into the left faceoff circle before firing the puck past Jonas Hiller to give the Wild their second victory in Calgary this season. Justin Fontaine and defenseman Matt Dumba also tallied, Coyle notched two assists and Devan Dubnyk made 35 saves as Minnesota improved to 9-1-2 in its last 12 contests.

Jiri Hudler and Lance Bouma scored for the Flames, who fell to 2-0-1 on their four-game homestand. Blue-liner Dennis Wideman set up both goals and Hiller turned aside 26 shots as Calgary moved one point ahead of idle Vancouver for second place in the Pacific Division.

Minnesota opened the scoring at 8:40 of the first period, when Thomas Vanek made a backhand pass from the left faceoff circle to Fontaine, who beat Hiller from the bottom of the slot. Dumba doubled the lead less than three minutes later as he skated down the right wing and fired a shot over Hiller's left shoulder from above the right circle.

Hudler halved the deficit with 2:52 remaining in the session, deflecting Wideman's wrist shot from the blue line between Dubnyk's pads for his third goal in two games. Calgary drew even midway through the third as Bouma wired a shot from the left circle into the top right corner of the net.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota D Jared Spurgeon exited after taking a puck to the face during his second shift of the game and did not return. ... Dubnyk notched his second assist of the season on Dumba's goal, pulling him within one of Anaheim's Frederik Andersen and San Jose's Antti Niemi for the league lead among goaltenders. ... Bouma's goal was his third in five contests, with the previous two being game-winners. ... Captain Mark Giordano appeared in his 507th game with the Flames, tying him with Craig Conroy for 15th place on the franchise list.
