Former Canuck Jordan Schroeder, Nino Niederreiter and Kyle Brodziak each added a tally for the Wild, who defeated Vancouver for the sixth time in seven meetings. Captain Mikko Koivu collected three assists and Devan Dubnyk made 22 saves in improving to 8-1-0 since being acquired from Arizona.

Minnesota opened a 2-0 lead less than eight minutes into the contest as Schroeder beat Miller with a backhander from the inner edge of the left faceoff circle at 5:05 and Pominville converted a cross-slot pass by Thomas Vanek 2:32 later. Kassian chased down a loose puck and fired it past Dubnyk from the right circle midway through the first period, but Niederreiter restored the two-goal advantage with 4:23 remaining with a shot from the slot.

The Canucks cut it to 3-2 when Matthias buried All-Star Radim Vrbata's cross-crease pass at the right post 71 seconds into the middle session. But Suter blasted the puck past a screened Miller during a power play at 7:05 and Brodziak ended the goaltender's night with a shot from the right circle 54 seconds later.
