Canadiens 3, Bruins 1: Dale Weise and Max Pacioretty each recorded a goal and an assist as visiting Montreal completed a sweep of the four-game season series between the Original Six rivals.

Defenseman Andrei Markov added an empty-net tally for the Canadiens, who outscored the Bruins 16-6 in the series. All-Star Carey Price finished with 34 saves, coming within 4 1/2 minutes of his fifth shutout of the season.

Rookie David Pastrnak scored the lone goal for the Bruins, who lost in regulation at home for just the second time in 13 contests (8-2-3). Tuukka Rask turned aside 31 shots as Boston suffered its 10th defeat in 11 meetings with the Canadiens.

After a scoreless first period, Montreal opened the scoring 38 seconds into the middle session as Weise backhanded a loose puck in the crease into the net after Pacioretty's shot from the left faceoff circle hit the right post for his third goal in two games. Weise completed his second straight multi-point performance in the opening minute of the third.

The 26-year-old Winnipeg native chipped the puck away from Dougie Hamilton as the Boston defenseman was lining up a shot at the top of the slot and sent a lead pass to Pacioretty, who beat Rask between the pads on a breakaway at the 56-second mark. Boston spoiled Price's shutout bid with 4:31 remaining, when Pastrnak got just enough of a bouncing puck in the low slot for it to roll across the goal line before the netminder was able to knock it away, but Markov sealed it with 31 seconds to play.
