Flyers 5, Jets 2: Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds each recorded a goal and an assist as host Philadelphia won its third straight contest.

Chris VandeVelde, defenseman Nick Schultz and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers, who will look to continue their unbeaten homestand Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Steve Mason turned aside 36 shots to preserve the win.

Mathieu Perreault netted both goals for the Jets, who have dropped back-to-back contests following a five-game winning streak. Michael Hutchinson made 27 saves in defeat.

VandeVelde opened the scoring at 7:02 of the first period by knocking home the rebound of defenseman Michael Del Zotto's point shot that Hutchinson couldn't corral. Perreault drew the Jets even 1:18 later with a conversion of his own rebound from point-blank range, and he evened things a second time during a man advantage with 3:03 remaining in the session after Simmonds' power-play tally at 11:39 had put the Flyers ahead.

Schultz scored the lone goal of the middle period, swatting home a bouncing puck after a prolonged scramble at 3:18 for his first tally since April 8, 2013. Schenn put away the game with a one-timer 4:12 into the third and Couturier concluded the scoring with a long empty-netter with 1:41 remaining.
