Blackhawks 3, Penguins 2 (SO): Captain Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane scored in the shootout as visiting Chicago recovered from squandering a two-goal lead and entered the All-Star break with back-to-back wins.

Toews beat Marc-Andre Fleury low to the stick side after David Perron's opening attempt hit the post and Kane followed an unsuccessful try by superstar Sidney Crosby by mirroring his teammate's shot to clinch the victory. Marian Hossa recorded a goal and an assist, defenseman David Rundblad also scored and Corey Crawford made 33 saves for the Blackhawks, who kicked off their seven-game road trip with their second triumph in as many nights.

Zach Sill netted his first NHL goal and Steve Downie also tallied for the Penguins, who have dropped four in a row (0-2-2). Fleury turned aside 24 shots as Pittsburgh played without key regulars Evgeni Malkin and blue-liner Kris Letang due to injuries.

Chicago opened the scoring 6:56 into the contest as Rundblad beat a screened Fleury with a slap shot from above the right faceoff circle. Hossa doubled the lead during a power play at 2:41 of the second period, wristing the puck inside the left post from the top of the right circle as Fleury's view again was blocked.

The Penguins halved the deficit less than three minutes later as Sill beat Crawford high to the glove side from the inner edge of the right circle. Downie forged a tie with 7:38 left in the session, when he buried a loose puck from the right side of the crease.

GAME NOTEBOOK: In addition to Malkin and Letang, who suffered undisclosed injuries in Tuesday's loss at Philadelphia, Pittsburgh was without D Simon Despres due to illness. ... Rundblad's goal was his third of the season and second in two nights. ... Toews notched an assist on Rundblad's tally to extend his point streak to seven games.
