Flames 2, Kings 1: Curtis Glencross and Markus Granlund scored 62 seconds apart in the first period and host Calgary held on to defeat Los Angeles for the second time in eight days.

Jiri Hudler notched a pair of assists for the Flames, who improved to 2-0-0 on their six-game homestand by posting their third straight victory overall. Jonas Hiller made 26 saves for Calgary, which rallied from a 3-0 deficit at Los Angeles last Monday to post an overtime win.

Tyler Toffoli scored the lone goal for the Kings, who had their four-game point streak (3-0-1) halted. Jonathan Quick turned aside 13 shots in defeat.

Glencross opened the scoring with 7:47 remaining in the first period, taking a back pass from Hudler alone in the slot and beating Quick for his second goal in two games. Granlund doubled the lead just over a minute later as he completed a nifty passing sequence involving Hudler and rookie Johnny Gaudreau by firing the puck past Quick from the low slot.

Los Angeles halved the deficit in the final minute of the middle session as Toffoli received a feed from captain Dustin Brown and lifted a backhander past Hiller while on a breakaway with 51 seconds left. The Kings outshot the Flames 10-5 in the third but were unable to net the equalizer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gaudreau's three-game goal-scoring streak came to an end, but his assist on Granlund's tally gave him a point in four consecutive contests. ... Los Angeles RW Marian Gaborik and C Anze Kopitar had their point streaks snapped at six and five games, respectively. ... The Kings failed to convert on their two power-play opportunities after going 9-for-17 over their previous four contests.
