Predators 4, Flyers 1: Colin Wilson scored twice as host Nashville made a winner of coach Peter Laviolette in his first game against his former team.

Rookie Filip Forsberg netted a power-play goal and set up Mike Fisher's tally with the man advantage for the Predators, who went 3-for-5 with the extra skater after entering the contest mired in a 3-for-49 skid. Defenseman Roman Josi notched a pair of assists, Fisher added one and Pekka Rinne finished with 26 saves to record his NHL-leading 23rd victory.

Captain Claude Giroux scored his fourth goal in as many contests for the Flyers, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. Defensemen Braydon Coburn and Nick Schultz each had an assist and Ray Emery turned aside 34 shots in the setback.

Nashville made the most of its 5-on-3 advantage with Matt Read and Giroux whistled for high-sticking penalties 26 seconds apart in the middle session. Fisher gave the Predators a 2-1 lead at 13:57 by converting during a scramble in front and Wilson's blast 38 seconds later beat Emery before his empty-net goal with 3:18 remaining in the third sealed the victory.

Forsberg's shot from the right faceoff circle beat a screened Emery 9:41 into the first period to open the scoring. Giroux answered 6:50 into the second, using Jakub Voracek as a decoy before converting a 2-on-1 rush from the right circle.
