Blues 5, Kings 2: Vladimir Tarasenko registered his second hat trick and four-point performance of the season as host St. Louis blitzed Los Angeles with four third-period goals to extend its winning streak to five games.

Tarasenko set up the tying tally by Jaden Schwartz before snapping the deadlock as the Blues erased a 2-1 deficit with three goals in a span of 2 1/2 minutes. Schwartz added an assist, Alex Steen also scored and rookie Jake Allen turned aside 21 shots to win his third straight start as St. Louis beat the Kings for only the third time in 12 meetings (3-7-2).

Marian Gaborik scored a pair of second-period goals for Los Angeles, which went 1-1-3 on its five-game road trip and absorbed its 12th defeat in 16 games away from home (4-7-5). Jonathan Quick made 18 saves for the Kings but allowed three goals in the third before his team managed a shot on net.

Trailing 2-1 just past the midway point of the third, the Blues capitalized on a 5-on-3 when Schwartz tipped home defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk's blast at 11:20 before Tarasenko snapped a laser past Quick for another power-play tally with seven minutes to play. Steen doubled the lead 50 seconds later before Tarasenko scored into an empty net to complete the hat trick.

Following a scoreless first period, Gaborik tipped in Justin Williams' shot at 5:39 before redirecting Anze Kopitar's feed from the right side during a man advantage with nine minutes left in the middle session. Tarasenko cut the deficit in half 89 seconds later with a bullet from the slot that beat Quick high to the glove side.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tarasenko, who also recorded three goals and an assist on Oct. 28 at Dallas, moved into second in the league with 20 goals and is one shy of his career high set last season. ... Gaborik has scored three goals in his last two games. ... ... Blues C T.J. Oshie, who scored the winning goal in each of the previous two games, sat out the contest due to family reasons.
