Ducks 4, Oilers 2:
Captain Ryan Getzlaf and defenseman Sami Vatanen each recorded a goal and an assist as Anaheim kicked off its five-game road trip by completing a sweep of the home-and-home series.

Kyle Palmieri and Nate Thompson also scored for the Ducks, who improved to 6-0-0 this month. Rene Bourque notched a pair of assists and Frederik Andersen made 21 saves in his 17th straight start for Anaheim, which posted a 2-1 home triumph over Edmonton on Wednesday.

Tyler Pitlick and blue-liner Jeff Petry tallied for the Oilers, who have lost 14 of their last 15 contests (1-10-4). Viktor Fasth allowed three goals on 12 shots against his former team before being replaced by Ben Scrivens, who finished with seven saves.

Anaheim cashed in on a power play less than five minutes into the game to take the lead. After a faceoff win by the Ducks, Getzlaf made a cross-ice pass to Vatanen, who moved from the point to the top of the left faceoff circle before wristing the puck past Fasth.

Palmieri converted a breakaway seven seconds into the middle session and Getzlaf ended Fasth's night with a wrist shot from the right faceoff dot that gave the Ducks a 3-0 cushion. Pitlick got Edmonton on the board with 4:36 remaining in the period, grabbing a loose puck in the neutral zone and firing it past Andersen from the right circle during a 2-on-1 rush, and Petry converted a man-advantage opportunity with 7:20 left in the third to make it a one-goal contest.

Edmonton fell to 1-15-4 against the Western Conference and 1-11-1 versus Pacific Division rivals. ... The Ducks improved to 18-3-1 against the Oilers since the start of the 2009-10 season.
