Blues 6, Islanders 3: Alex Steen capped a three-point performance with his second goal early in the third period to help send host St. Louis to its second win over New York in six days.

T.J. Oshie recorded a goal and two assists while defenseman Barret Jackman added one of each as the Blues extended their winning streak to three games and beat the Islanders for the fifth consecutive time. Paul Stastny netted a late power-play tally and Jaden Schwartz scored into an empty net as St. Louis broke a 2-2 deadlock with three straight third-period goals to back rookie Jake Allen (25 saves).

Kyle Okposo scored a goal and set up another while captain John Tavares and Mikhail Grabovski also tallied for New York, which absorbed a season high-tying third consecutive defeat. Ex-Blues netminder Jaroslav Halak, who had his 11-game winning streak snapped by St. Louis in Saturday's 6-4 setback, was pierced for five goals on 32 shots.

Steen, who missed the previous two games due to a lower-body injury, scored on a straight-on shot from the point during a power play just before the six-minute mark of the opening period. Jackman doubled the lead 8:20 later, taking a pass from Steen and launching a shot from just beyond the left faceoff circle to end a 60-game drought dating to Jan. 20.

The Islanders broke through at 16:03 of the second period as Tavares snagged the puck off the faceoff and beat Allen between the pads with a soft shot before Grabovski knotted it from the high slot with 5.3 seconds left in the session. The Blues responded as Steen swept home the rebound of Oshie's shot at 4:32 of the third before Oshie and Stastny scored 2:01 apart for a 5-2 lead with 2:12 remaining.
