Blues 3, Avalanche 2 (SO): Joakim Lindstrom scored the lone goal of the shootout in the second round as host St. Louis extended its winning streak to four games.

After each team failed to convert in the first round of the bonus format, Lindstrom fired the puck between Semyon Varlamov's pads to give the Blues the edge. Brian Elliott managed to get his left leg on the puck and knocked it away after Matt Duchene slipped it between his pads before stopping Ryan O'Reilly on Colorado's final opportunity.

Vladimir Tarasenko scored both regulation goals for St. Louis, which squandered a two-goal lead in the third period. Elliott turned aside 27 shots in the victory.

O'Reilly and Nathan MacKinnon each recorded a goal and an assist for the Avalanche, whose point streak reached six games (2-0-4). Defenseman Erik Johnson set up both tallies while Varlamov also finished with 27 saves.

Tarasenko gave St. Louis the lead with 3:31 remaining in the first period, blasting a loose puck past Varlamov from just above the right faceoff circle. The Russian made it 2-0 just 46 seconds into the third session as he skated down the slot and tipped defenseman Alex Pietrangelo's shot from above the right circle past the netminder while holding his stick with only one hand.

Colorado used its power play to pull even, as it scored twice with the man advantage in a span of 2:54 early in the third. O'Reilly halved the deficit at 2:19 by burying the rebound of a shot by McKinnon, who forged a tie at 5:13 with a shot from the inner edge of the left circle that deflected off Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester and past Elliott.
