Penguins 3, Predators 0: Captain Sidney Crosby recorded a goal and two assists while Marc-Andre Fleury posted his 29th career shutout as visiting Pittsburgh handed Nashville its first regulation loss of the season.

Evgeni Malkin extended his season-opening point streak to seven games with a tally and Pascal Dupuis registered his 400th career point with a goal for the Penguins, who went 2-for-3 on the power play. Fleury notched an assist while turning aside 25 shots en route to his first blanking of the campaign.

Pekka Rinne finished with 23 saves for the Predators, who had their season-opening seven-game point streak snapped. The Predators managed only four shots on goal in the second period as they completed a 2-1-0 homestand.

Pittsburgh got on the board 6:21 into the contest as Crosby whacked his second attempt near the right post past Rinne. The superstar had circled the net after his cross-slot pass from the left faceoff circle missed the intended mark.

After a scoreless second period, Pittsburgh used its league-leading power play to create breathing room in the third. Malkin received a slap pass by Crosby from the right point and guided the puck into the net from the left side at 2:03, and Dupuis backhanded a rebound past Rinne from the doorstep 3:22 later for a 3-0 advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pittsburgh has won five straight meetings with Nashville. ... Predators C Mike Ribeiro saw his five-game point streak come to an end. ... Penguins RW Patric Hornqvist recorded an assist against his former team, giving him nine points in seven contests.
