Ducks 3, Blues 0: Defenseman Sami Vatanen scored a pair of power-play goals and Frederik Andersen posted his first career shutout as host Anaheim extended its winning streak to five games.

Matt Beleskey also tallied and captain Ryan Getzlaf notched two assists for the Ducks, who improved to 2-0-0 on their five-game homestand. Andersen turned aside 28 shots en route to his ninth consecutive victory dating to last season.

Brian Elliott made 22 saves for the Blues, who completed a 1-1-1 road trip. Jaden Schwartz registered two shots but failed to score one night after recording his first career hat trick as St. Louis suffered its eighth straight loss at Anaheim.

It took just 97 seconds - and a fortunate bounce - for Anaheim to get on the board as Beleskey drilled a shot into the top left corner of the net from the top of the slot after Rickard Rakell's dump-in attempt along the right-wing boards caromed to him. Vatanen doubled the lead with 2:07 remaining in the first period with a one-timer from the right point that beat a screened Elliott.

Vatanen capped his first career two-goal effort with 4:23 left in the middle session, when he received a cross-slot pass from Getzlaf and fired the puck past Elliott from the left faceoff circle. Andersen (25-5-0) took over in the third period, making 16 saves to join Boston's Ross Brooks (25-2-3) as the only goaltenders in NHL history to win 25 of their first 30 career decisions.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Vatanen became the sixth defenseman in franchise history to score two power-play goals in a game, joining Fredrik Olausson, Jason Marshall, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger and Lubomir Visnovsky. ... The Blues were without C Paul Stastny, who suffered an apparent arm injury in Saturday's victory at Arizona. ... St. Louis D Petteri Lindbohm registered a game-high four shots in his NHL debut. ... The Blues, who were shut out for the second time in three games, have lost seven of their last eight overall meetings with the Ducks.
