Flames 4, Jets 1: Mason Raymond recorded a goal and two assists while rookie Johnny Gaudreau netted his first tally of the season as visiting Calgary rallied past struggling Winnipeg.

Gaudreau and defenseman Dennis Wideman each posted a goal and an assist while blue-liner TJ Brodie added a tally for the Flames, who completed a 4-2-0 road trip. Jonas Hiller turned aside 34 shots, including 12 in both the first and third periods as Calgary weathered constant pressure from the Jets.

Mark Scheifele registered his first goal of the season for Winnipeg, which has scored only twice during its four-game losing streak. Ondrej Pavelec made 25 saves for the Jets, who failed on two power-play chances and are 0-for-14 with the man advantage on the season.

Winnipeg outshot the Flames 13-6 in the first period and Scheifele scored from below the left faceoff circle after a cross-ice feed from Blake Wheeler at 10:28. Wideman beat Pavelec stick side from the slot 6:12 into the second to tie it and Gaudreau converted a wraparound during a power play four minutes later.

Wideman took a big hit to get the puck ahead in the neutral zone to Gaudreau, who set up Raymond for his fifth goal with 7:06 left in the middle session. Brodie netted his third goal, pounding home a rebound 3:18 into the third period, to add insurance for Calgary.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Flames recorded 18 shots during the middle session, their highest total in a period this season. … Winnipeg had successfully killed 18 consecutive penalties to start the season before Gaudreau’s goal. … Calgary C Josh Jooris (upper body), D Deryk Engelland (lower body) and RW Brian McGrattan were scratched.
